My g/f and I will be in Dortmund for work (+ xmas party) on 17th (so until the early hours of the morning of the 18th). We’re flying back from Dusseldorf on 20th, in the evening. Between those two endpoints, we’d like to get some local fresh (from the wood preferably) Koelsches and Alts, but really have no plans how much we should spend in each of the 3 places. Recommendations or advice? |
WTF did RB do to my subject line?!?!? |
Of this month I take it? |
Solid advice, especially the Schumacher 1838. are they still brewing it with Mosaic? |
Maps isn’t working for me on this machine, so thanks for recommending things in close proximity, that will make life easier! |
Too bad I’ll visit friends that weekend and won’t be in cologne. Would have been a pleasure to show you around |
yes, Heumarkt not Neumarkt |
Dang, looks like Braustelle’s a bit of a way out of town. I guess that can be a taxi ride. How much should I expect to pay for such a trip? |
Originally posted by FatPhil It is just on the other side of town. Super easy to get to that side of town from the center in about 15-20mins via tram, will cost you about 2.5€, taxi will probably be around 25€. |
Forget Braustelle… Off the beaten tracks, boring and sour beers… Try to get the traditional Düsseldorf stuff at the source (Schumacher, Uerige) and be sure to enjoy a moreish Päffgen at Lommerzheim (unique pub!!!) or at the brewery-tap Friesenstrasse…!!! |
Originally posted by pivnizub Well, at least it’s possible to drink Kölsch (or Wiess) and Alt at the Braustelle! |
