Italy vs. Spain tomorrow. Can’t wait.

Again, I think this’ll be a good game.

Enjoyed all 4 games so far.

Agreed, 4 good games. I always seem to forget that the Euros are much more enjoyable than the World Cup - more competitive, more quality.

Guess Germany style beers don’t get that much awards and prizes, though this Euro 2012 game will be won by them!
Congrats to the Danes, they played better and won quite rightly!
Drunk a lot of Bronckhorster beer... Pfff...
More nice games this week, yay!

4 good games? What, you guys came with low expectations? Most people I know who really follow football agree that only the Russia-Czech Republic match was really "interesting".

Congrats to the Danes, the Netherlands basically ate itself. Germany - Portugal as expected, with looong periods of boredom pierced by momentary attacks of interesting footie.

Heck, the under-18 match between Hajduk Split and Valencia that I saw live the day before yesterday was more interesting than the four of them combined. And yeah, Hajduk thrashed them, as they did with Dynamo Kiev (6-1) yesterday.

Yes, I came with low expectations, 1st group games in tournaments tend to be defensive and most teams are happy simply not to lose their first game. And clearly you weren’t drinking enough during the games to make them MORE interesting.

As for my not REALLY following football and therefore my opinion being less valid, well, I suppose it’s like someone on here with 10,000 ratings saying to someone with only 100 ratings, "you’re opinion isn’t valid of a beer until you get to 10k" You can say it, you’ll look a bit of a douche, but you can say it.

Also, to take each game by itself:-

Poland vs Greece - this wasn’t exciting? 2 sendings off, 2 penalties, one of which was missed, refereeing errors, a complete about turn by the Greeks in the second half? What’s not to like?

Russia vs Czech Republic - watching Russia play was very entertaining. Good footballers, even Arshavin looked good

Denmark vs Netherlands - The Dutch were one of the pre-tournament favourites and they lost. Now they will have to beat their biggest rivals in the Germans in their next match otherwise there is a good chance they will be going home. Lots of missed chances, Van Persie not being able to stand up whilst shooting and not having a right foot.

Germany vs Portugal - again one of the pre-tournament favourites struggling to find their way past a Portugese team that looked dangerous on the break. Probably the least exciting of the 4 games so far.

But if as I say the first games tend to be the least exciting, then this is a good omen for the rest of the tournament.

Anyway, they were a damn sight more exciting than the opening games of South Africa 2010 which was a snooze-a-thon for most of the first round

I agree completely. Only Russia’s game was nice to watch. Denmark won because we played with Van Persie instead of Huntelaar. I’ve counted at least 5 chances a decent striker would score, but no, not Van Persie. Oh and one addition to the Germany match: indeed long periods of boredom and in the end they still win 1-0. Predictable as well.

Well sod the lot of you.

I don’t care anyway, I’m currently half way through the boil of a Bramling Cross Rye bitter that should be ready in about 4 weeks time. Mmmmmm 40 pints of lovely spicy fruity brown bitter with twigs in it.
