Party off topic, but I recently dry hopped around 10 liters of sahti with about 50g amarillo pellets (from 2015 harvest) and 10g of old sorachi ace whole cones (2013 harvest, first time I’ve used), and I can’t taste or smell anything but the sorachi sharp lemony, dillyness (its really overpowering- closed system used though, so the hop aroma haven’t gone anywhere, and it was an oat/soft sahti), even though they were pretty old and not used in excess.

Anyway, got a totally new sense of respect for sorachi as a dry hop, probably gonna be my goto dry hop when wanting to mask anything gone bad in the brewing process.

Still prefer Simcoe for dry hopping anything that uses SO5 yeast. Amazing nose and it can’t be over used like a Citra can be. A bit too mush Citra and you have cat piss.
Centennial is my second choice. Too old school????

Never. I too enjoy Centennial dry-hopping additions in all-grain IPAs.
