Me and my Irish mates be will celebrating this coming Sunday by caning lambics and saisons in the safety of someone’s house. Far away from the part-timers. |
Dark Star Sussex Stout. |
Black Isle porter. Replaced Guinness in loads of pubs |
I am not sure if it’s still the case, but I remember when Hopback replaced Guinness and decided to sell Entire Stout in all of its pubs instead. |
So the guardian could only think of 4 stouts and then skip to a porter. Rubbish. |

Anything from The Porterhouse would be, if not stellar, at least better than Guinness. AND it would be brewed in a brewery owned by Irishmen, in stead of an evil multinational corporate company. |
Porterhouse Oyster Stout made with real oysters would be my Guinness replacement. Available in Covent Garden. |
Originally posted by Sigmund Yes any of the standard dark beers are better than Guinness. The Wrasselers in particular is very good. |
Always thought Murphys was far better than Guinness anyway. Interested to see the article mentioned Wadworth’s Corvus - a surprisingly excellent stout. |
