Has anyone ever had a package of beer from US seized by HMRC when labelled glassware/olive oil etc?

Ever managed to get it back?

I friend of mine has had a bottle of whisky seized when it was labelled 'olive oil'. It's a Karuizawa. Worth a lot!

Never label a package as olive oil. It's flammable. Maybe that's why it was seized?

Your friend needs to contact the shipping agent. They may be able to shed some light. If it's been stopped just because it's booze, at best it may get returned to sender.

HMRC - formal official letter explaining seizure. Only route is to challenge it with a solicitor according to the letter if he believe's it's been wrongfully seized. Feel sorry for the poor guy as he buys a lot of whisky but this was a big trade he did for a special bottle.
