Sorry, don’t want to open old wounds, but I saw a thread on this some months ago and it seemed a little contentious so I skipped past it. Now I want to know what the pronunciation for Hoegaarden. Thanks

Dead on.

...

(Though some Belgies will say it with an even softer ’g’, amounting to the English ’h’ and sometimes drop the ’n’ but still pronounce the last ’e’. One of my Dutch friends pronounces the ’g’ much more forcefully and raspy. Some will roll the ’r’ enough to give the appearance of a schwa between the ’r’ and ’d’...but all that amounts to regional dialects.)

Yeah, but Hoe Garden sounds funnier.
