There seems to be some confusion sometimes in the cider part of our database. For example Écusson/CCLF.
There's this cidery on Ratebeer, but neither the website nor email exist, the address seems to be a small office somewhere in Paris: https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/cidreries-du-calvados-la-fermiere-cclf/4598/
Then there's these two which just seem to be two plants owned by CCLF: https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/cclf-messac/11852/ https://www.ratebeer.com/brewers/cclf-livarot/11418/
They all have different entries, but a lot seem to be the same. For example, I don't think there's actually ciders called Ecusson, they're all called Écusson though it's not always mentioned on the front of the label. It's a bit hard as lots of the entries don't have pictures, but from what I can find the labels look the same.
There's a few others where there seem to be the same ciders put under different producers/names. I'm not sure if there's a cider admin? I've been adding a bunch to the database myself but it's sometimes quite hard and I understand the dificulty in trying to validate the info. If there's anything we can do to help I'd also like to know!

Yeah I know (my girlfriend is called Élodie/Elodie), but now it seems that there's a difference in our database between Écusson Brut and Ecusson Brut that probably isn't there.

Oh, yeah, then you're right.

On www.ciderexpert.com it has Ecusson as owned by Agrial http://www.agrial.com/en/agrifood/beverage-division/ See the Ecusson brand page: http://www.agrial.com/en/marque/ecusson-1/ In the official product photo it has Écusson on the bottle and Ecusson on the glass! So looks like they themselves are hedging their bets with the name!! It states "Ecusson - "Since 1919, Ecusson has been re-inventing cider through its original creations in its cider-making facility of Livarot, in the heart of Normandy. Its master cider-makers use about 20 varieties of cider apples from Normandy. Ecusson ciders are famous for their subtle blend of sweetness and character."

Having more cider drinkers.... When it comes to Asturian cider, it´s a total mess. Most of them were uploaded by Rastacuore years ago, and there´s plenty of inconsistencies regarding cider names, cider mill (llagares) names, nomenclature.... I could do a bit of cleaning, but this would take a lot of time.

Yeah, it seems for the UK and US it's sort of decent, but for the rest of the world it needs some cleaning and sometimes merging. Again, if help is needed I could track some info down for a few countries including France, but than I need an admin who will make the changes to the database.

Norway should be pretty much on track as well.

Didn't we have a top notch French cider admin? What happened to him?

Moved to untappd

Yeah those CCLF entries have bugged me for a long time. Lots of merging needs to happen. Similarly for Loic Raison and a few other producers. I offered to tidy these and the UK ciders up a while ago but heard nothing back and the problem remains. I agree that a cider admin would make sense, but i doubt will happen
