Yes. That was probably a couple hundred dollar cheese tray. I recall it was from the wedding downstairs and we got that instead of some $15~ cheese tray. |

Chef, What the heck have you been up to? It has been years! I had heard you moved up north with Peter after the tasting at his place.
Actually I spent 3+ months of this years working in the UAE - very cool experience. Just after I got back from that, in early July, I moved up to Lexington Park, Maryland. I transferred up here to work on F-35 Flight Test at NAS Pax River. Cool job, lots of cool beer stuff going on in DC and Baltimore, but I miss Texas - just not the summers in Texas. |
Cool. I plan to make a stop in the UAE one of these years. I have a buddy going there in a couple weeks. Have fun working with those F-35’s! |

As the guys noted with my userpic, your presence has always been felt, Lumpy.
Actually, it continues to be an issue when I go to a gathering or festival and people expect me to look like you...and then walks in a wimpy-looking professor-type. But I can’t get rid of the pic now. Glad to hear you’re back.
That DFW Crew 1.0 was amazingly good. I’ve never enjoyed beer gatherings as much as those. It’s the #1 thing I miss about Texas. The only other things I miss are Peggy Sue’s BBQ in Dallas and Central Market grocery stores. The rest of Texas...well, that’s pretty much crap, isn’t it. ;-) |

Beware, the UAE is beer hell! In Abu Dhabi there is the Belgian Cafe at the Intercontinental and the Brauhaus at the Beach Rotana. Other than those two places, not much going on. In the place that I stayed - the Royal Meridian - about my only choice was Leffe Blonde.  |
