Shmaltz Brewing Company seeks a full time National Sales Manager to lead our dedicated team of Regional Sales Managers as we continue to grow our brands in our home market and nationally. This position will be responsible for helping develop and execute our strategic direction, assuring achievement of sales goals, implementing marketing programs, and expanding retail distribution in all segments – on- and off-premise, chains and independents. Our ideal candidate is a confident leader and creative thinker who pays attention to detail, has a positive and cooperative attitude with the ability to multi-task, and has a passion for representing and selling world-class beer. This position will be based either out of the brewery in Upstate New York, or in the New York City region. Frequent out of state travel is mandatory and a crucial part of the job.

Shmaltz Brewing Company is an award-winning craft brewing company founded in San Francisco in 1996 and reborn in 2013 in Upstate, NY with a modern and expandable 50-barrel, 40,000 square foot brewery and 1,700 square foot tasting room. Our team is committed to hand crafting our line of He’brew Beers, which we distribute to over 40 distributors in 37 states.


2+ years experience managing a sales team and distribution network.
5+ years of beverage industry or related experience. Strong working knowledge of Three Tier System.
Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, or similar. MBA a plus.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Valid Driver’s License, good driving record and a reliable automobile.
Strong working knowledge of computers and technology – Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
Proficiency in sales analysis, and ability to incorporate into sales presentations to distributors and key accounts.
Ability to manage multiple projects at once, while communicating effectively with a remote sales team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Manage, lead, motivate and grow current sales team of 6 full-time RSMs and several part-time sales reps
Manage, interact with, and hold accountable a national distribution network of over 40 wholesalers
Work in collaboration with the rest of Shmaltz’s management team – Production, Marketing & Creative
Develop and execute strategic business plan to grow volume and distribution nationally
Build and implement quarterly focus strategies, tying into new releases and overall company focus
Working with all Shmaltz divisions, plan the launch of new products and releases, and roll out to distribution
Target and pursue opportunities for new chain business, or increased authorization in existing chains
Work with Shmaltz’s Logistics Manager to oversee monthly order process
Develop and maintain positive relationships with key retailers, both on- and off-premise
Position reports directly to the Owner/Founder
