And he did it mostly over the internet from other less beery parts of the world (I’m looking at you, Afghanistan). So if you see a red map dot in Germany but the brewpub/brewery has no ratings, it would be useful to confirm whether the place is open for business, and whether they actually brew in house. Cheers!

Get to to Zürich via the Hauptbahnhof, buy yourself a bagfull at Drinks of the World, en enjoy 2 or 3 GLASSES on draught at Erzbierschof. Might turn out better than expected. Personally, I calculated expenses twice as high as they turned out to be. Other example: Fork& Bottle, 300 CHF for dinner for 4 people (with starters) and 4 craftbeers, including a 75cl one
