I just mentioned Poland is doing good in top 50. Buba Extreme Jack Daniels pops up on spot 23. |
Hah. How I love "does not count" ratings that actually count and help a beer get into the top 50... :( |

I had the other two beers of the series.. the Cognac and the Calvados versions. We had them in a tasting among many great beers so the "competition" was quite hard for those and my rating was 3.5 for both. Hopefully I will find them along with the Jack Daniels version and try them again! |
Originally posted by rouhlas Like I told you, JD was the way better version. absolutely a great beer. not sure if really top 50, but you should seek it out nevertheless :) |
Originally posted by joetDoesn’t a beer have to have 50 ratings to qualify for the list now? If so, whilst the 2 non-counting ratings don’t count for calculating the score, they seem to count for calculating the required number of ratings to qualify for the list. |
For me Buba Extreme JD is the best polish beer, period. Still, like Kraddel: "not sure if really top 50" (but that sentence is true for a lot of top50 beers) :) |
Very much hit & miss. I order beers from Poland quite often, I’d say about half of them have Diacetyl. No exaggeration. Tried all the breweries, and they all have problems with it. |
It is very over the top and silly, tastes exactly like you think eisbocked quad would taste (sweet and boozy). Hence I’m sure it would be also in top, if it was made by hyped American brewery :) |
If you were to be able to remove the Polish ratings, there would be a handful of Belgians who liked it a lot, and then a bunch of Estonian haters (OK, I exagerate, 3.7, 3.6, 3.5, and 3.4, IIRC), and this beer would barely register. |
