BTW Joe, could you add a link to the app on the RateBeer mobile apps page http://www.ratebeer.com/Shop.asp ? It should like to https://market.android.com/details?id=com.ratebeer.android

What is the difference between this and the link we already have?

The current link still points to the old, unmaintained first app called RateBeer Mobile, made by jfm - and is no longer available.

Done. Checked mobile front door link which was already linked.

Joe, is adding information for aliased beer to the API on your radar?

I really want this as well. Actually, I’ve send a bunch of API improvements and additions to Joe and hope he gets to it some time. Most important for me are that aliased beers should refer to the original beer and a fix in the place search’s place rating percentage (as already made in the place details api).

Cool, thanks for the info. Adding the alias information would really make the app rock and roll.

added IsAlias to beer info returned - hope this doesn’t break anything!

updated the API doc.

also allowing for beer availability input

and added bar code input as well

So we can now attribute a bar code to a specific beer? thats’s awesome!

I’d also love to be able to add tags to beers. If I’m in a store and look up a rye beer, I might as well tag it as rye.

I replied to a BM the other day and my trade partner said he saw there was a message, but no text was there.

If you change your password but forget to change it on the client, the client goes into a "limbo". Everything seems to work except rating, which gives the "the command failed unexpectedly..." error.

Eric-

I was doing barcode scans today at 12:00pm CST, using ver 1.1.2, and got the Connection Error every time.

Everything else on the Android app was working fine, and I was able to download from the Web, so it wasn’t a phone/service issue.

Phone is an HTC Shift 4G (Sprint).

Keep up the good work. Much appreciated.

Eric are Sumit are doing fantastic work here. While this is horrible for ratebeer revnue :-) , it’s very cool to see the percentage of mobile traffic jump so substantially!

It seems that my RB API key was invalidated, so any API-based feature in the app stopped working. Sorry for that; I’ve asked Joe for help.
