A friend of mine went to Russian River and was kind enough to bring me a 750ml bottle of Temptation. He was told that RR will not be bottling in 750’s anymore and that everything coming out of RR will be 375’s. Can anybody confirm this? I can’t picture a Consecration in 375’s but it sure would make it easier to buy at $12-$14 then the $24.95 we currently pay. |
Originally posted by padrefan98 I don’t know about that rumor, but you shouldn’t assume that half the bottle size = half the price. Supplication was $18 around here for a 375ml. |
Yeah, Consecration batch 4 will be in the smaller bottles. Same bottle size and shape they used for Supplication and that Lost Abbey is now using. I’m not sure if everything (Damnation, Redemption, Salvation?) will be in 375’s though. |
Originally posted by changeup45 My friend also brought me a 375 of Salvation. |
Originally posted by JAXSON I recently saw a 375 Supplication for $13 and a Temptation for $12. But we are lucky spoiled bastards here. |
the 375s of Damnation are 3.79-4.00 around here--just about half the price of the 750s--I’m guessing Consecration will be right around the Supplication price. Which is nice. |
Originally posted by padrefan98 Whoa. 375’s of Temptation on the market right now? What batch number?? I thought they got their new 375 bottles AFTER the last batch (004) was already packaged and ready for release entirely in 750’s. I may have just made that last part up. Did they bottle some 375’s of Batch 004 that I just didn’t hear about? Are these "new" bottles from that same batch? From a new batch? From an older batch???? |
Originally posted by cquiroga Sorry Chris, I wish I would have paid attention. All I did was pick the bottle up, note the price and put it back. Wish I would have bought them because I went back a week later and they where gone. I have bought 375’s of temptation, supplication, and beatification before, so I don’t understand your confusion? Or mine? haha. |
well, a 750 of consecration or temptation is $25 at the brewery, a 375 is $12. so its actually less than half the price for the smaller bottle by 50 cents. |
I purchased a $12.99 375ml of Supplication in Colorado a couple weeks back. Even though I love the beer, I probably would not have purchased a $25 750ml of it if there was one available. |
Originally posted by padrefan98 I think the "confusion" is shared, but only because I’m not sure we’re talking about the same thing. To clarify, I assumed we were talking about all beers from now on being put in 375’s because Russian River has entered into a huge contract to have custom-made 375’s produced specifically for them (and Lost Abbey, North Coast, et al). So I know we’ve all seen the old 375’s of Temptation that had the sort of "triangular" neck and shoulders, but I’ve never seen any 375’s using the NEW bottles. I thought the entire last batch (004) was packaged in 750’s because it was bottled before they had received the new custom-made 375’s and AFTER they had ran out of the old "triangular" 375’s. Did the bottles of Temptation that you saw recently have this shape (like the new Supplication, or the Angel’s Share Grand Cru, or the new Red Poppy): http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4038/4326777200_94eef6f926.jpg Or did they have this shape (like all of the old Lost Abbey and Russian River 375’s before this year, and the old North Coast Bourbon and Brandy Old Stocks, etc.): http://www.ratebeer.com/beerimages/full_size/13145.jpg |
