Going to be in St. Louis for the weekend of Aug 12th. Looking to bring some cans/ bottles back to CT. Besides Perennial Artisan Ales, where should I be going? What places do weekend can releases? Thanks for any input & your time

Side Project, Narrow Gauge, and 2nd Shift are my goto places (I live in STL). Narrow Gauge has really good food too.

The list of other places to go here is pretty long (40ish breweries). Quick suggestions: Urban Chestnut (goto Midtown location if you want flights), 4 Hands, Civil Life has an awesome ambiance to it, and so forth.

I know Im tied up part of 8/12., but if you post in the STL forum you may get a few of us locals to meet up with you. A few of us just met up with Beastie a few weeks ago.

Civil Life was my favorite when I visited over the winter. If I had time for one place it would be here.

Urban Chestnut was probably my 2nd favorite. Went to the non-downtown location. If you like German beer and / or food check it out

Get the meatballs. They’re life-changing.

For release that garner the most attention I’d agree with Side Project & Narrow Gauge.

As far as places to visit, it really depends on what you want. We’ve got a lot of places with their own distinct personalities here, so it will probably be different answers from each person. My personal favorite places to sit and enjoy a beer are Heavy Riff, Perennial, Civil Life and Modern. I love UCBC beers a LOT, but the Grove location is so loud you almost need to text the person next to you to have a conversation. If going solo, it would be high on my list though.

If you have time, hit up the Wine and Cheese place in Clayton, plenty of bottles and cans. Not a brewerpub/brewey, but can pack a vehicle with a ton of local brews. And there are plenty of breweries above nearby.

All of the above. And post in the St. Louis forums when you are in the area. Also, if anything cool comes with you from CT maybe a tasting can be arranged.

One that sneaks in under the radar is Earthbound. It is a tiny place that has unique beers and they do samplers. Its not that far from 4Hands or Square One.
