As a quick aside, I saw this thread title and did wonder if that straw coloured product from the UK Steel City was making an unnecessary comeback......

You can still find "Stones", but feck knows where it’s brewed these days... last I heard it was Tetley but assume it’s moved elsewhere now?

I actually did the very last public tour of Stones and got locked in the entrance hall for 10 minutes... long story. We then tasted, with the brewer, the "Stones" from Burton which Allied’s tasting panel had decreed tasted just like the one from Sheffield.

It didn’t, but it was a huge scoop...
