I do not search out ratings of styles I dislike, but with that said I don’t pass them up at tastings or festivles either. The biggest examples I can give is that I avoid lambics and sour beers in general. However I loved dirty horse, hommage, and don quijote when I was given the chance at a few tastings. Still doesn’t mean I would search out other bottles. Jmo...Shawn |
Sometimes, because sometimes I do find beers in these styles that I *do* like. Whether or not my scores are fair is impossible to assess objectively, for all beer fans have individual, subjective palates. |
Originally posted by Lukaduke Interesting example. I like WTF, but it is very dissimilar to most browns I’ve tried. I tend to like the brown style, but WTF struck me more as a strong ale, a la Arrogant Bastard. |
As a relative newbie I have limited experience in the range of styles I have tried. I try to avoid saying that I dont like a style. I keep an open mind and say that I just have not tried one that I like. That said, I may not try another right away, but I will try something else in the style occasionally to give it another chance. I have found that my tastes have evolved as I get more experience. |
