Looking forward to it! Have been in twice this week for tasty beers (the benefit of my hotel being about 2 mins away) but can’t wait for the extravaganza and hopefully meeting other ratebeer..ers.

So the test bottling was done this morning of my Rye Bramling Cross and assuming the bottles don’t a. explode or b. taste terrible on Friday night, I’ll bring a couple along on Saturday. I know you tickers won’t drink them as they aren’t commercially available, but some of youse others may like to drink them.

Rye and Bramling Cross sounds like a win, look forward to trying it. Iv got some random bottle by some rookie brewers in Tampa of a saison with cucumbers in it that you can try in return...

Had an emergency in Russia and we are on our way back to Arizona. Sorry to have to change plans, Dave. Will let you know the details later.

I’ve been curious about the Craft Beer building and found that the Italian barometer maker Lewis Martinelli had his shop on the premises from 1802-1811. Nice picture of one of his barometers in the link.

Seems the Martinelli family had been working from 82 Leather lane since 1799.

The present building was constructed around 1869 by Thomas Middlemore Marshall.

Old Bailey Proceedings, 26th July 1897 - It all kicks off in the Clock House and a woman throws acid in the face of another woman. The barman responds. The verdict - Not Guilty.

Previous landlords from 1869 to 1944.

"In the beginning, they were mainly artisans making .... scientific instruments like barometers, thermometers, microscopes, telescopes and surgical instruments." I wonder whether that accounts for the telescope shop on Faringdon Road (not sure whether it’s still there) - right next door to the Zeppelin raid building. Interesting.
