My first Dark Beer of the evening is a cheapo from Lidl: https://www.ratebeer.com/beer/lidl-hatherwood-the-purple-panther-shepherd-neame/516181/ The Marston's version had 55 rates and a score of 3, I gave it 3.4. The new Shepherd Neame version has only 7 rates so far and a score of 3.15, so sounds like it could be better then the original. On a sad note my rating of this beer will push me to be the third highest rater of Lidl UK beers. Only a Silky Torker and a Sarky Northerner are above me. I will not embarrass Ian or Glen to say who are fourth and fifth! <*))))))><

Let the pale beer shitlordery commence!
Oooops, I'm accidentally drinking a dark beer in a pub.
Buddelship / Puhaste Cherry on my Cake. I think it's pretending to be an imperial schwarz, or some shit like that. Technically it's a rerate, but the original tick was from a week-old dribble in the bottom of a bottle under somebody's kitchen sink, so I though it was worth rerating in a proper sized portion.

Certainly not, I like to tell it how it is mate.
My next beers are more worthy of an on-line tasting evening, honest: plus I promise not to bad mouth anyone if you don't!

Having a dearth of dark beers in my fridge, I'll join this. Gouden Carolus Classic. First tasted in Ghent in Aba-Jour.

Galway Bay Brewery: Buried at Sea, a 4.5% Milk Stout up next. 110th rating, so a well known beer for an Irish brew not from St James's Gate. <*))))))><

Some half decent stuff does pop up in Lidl occasionally. Got their Petrus box a couple of months ago with the aged pale in there.
