I think you’re on the right track. Dank sort of means "wet and musty", a description that I think is totally appropriate when it comes to describing Chinook. |

To me, it’s always been a synonym for "pungent." And yeah, the marijuana comparison is right, because Dank is just another nickname for weed. |
In slang these days it just means really good. It originally comes from people decribing really good high grade cannabis buds as "dank". |
