good luck to you, but with shipping and purchasing the beer, not sure you’d be making money

I’ve bought beer on-line, but shipping to AK is just not cost effective. Until UPS/Fedex charge less then $80/12 bombers, I’m done playing that game.

It’s a nice idea in theory, but in reality I don’t think it’s a great business idea.

For one thing, these days, it’s extremely easy to find good beer, so these beer-a-month clubs have less value add. On top of that, if you’re dealing in hoppy beers, there’s the freshness consideration.

I think these monthly clubs are probably most useful for craft beer greenhorns. Folks who are more discriminating about what they drink would, I would imagine, want to make their own selections more often than not.

$20 is too much.

Does anyone buy beers online (Craft Beer Kings, Craft City, Craft Shack, etc.) or does everyone just check out new brews at the local beer market?

I buy online once or twice a year. Usually 6 or 12 bottles at a time to make shipping worth it.

I would definitely pay £20 a month for 6 beers i had not tried and had no reasonable chance of comming across.

But i Think you would findvthat much harder to. Implement than £20 would justify

Im not interested in 6 beers you think i might not have tried though

True, great points. I hadn’t even thought of hoppy beers, spot on.

After reading through all the feedback here (thank you everyone!), the monthly beer club wouldn’t be valuable to most long-time beer lovers. Looks like my friends and I will have to sit down over a few beers this Friday and think some more. :-)

If you have a list of beers that you want, but haven’t been able to find in your area, would it be worth it to have those beers purchased and shipped to you? Add, say $15 to shipping + cost of the beer.

for most people, it’s hard to run out of new beers to try. In order to justify paying a premium to try new beer, I would want a) nothing I’ve had before and b) only top quality stuff.

This.
