extremely central, just south of markt and the selection is impressive but the place feels overly oriented towards tourists and the prices are accordingly expensive, most of what i saw there were much cheaper elsewhere.
Stumbled on this place after numerous friends mentioned a ’beer wall’ in Bruges, and despite visiting the city many times, I never understood what they meant until now. You enter the bar off a main street with a long glass cabinet full of beer bottles and glasses lining the walkway towards the bar, which also has bottles along every wall. Good for getting the tourists in I guess, but the bar itself is also quite pleasant, with a great outside seating area along the canal. We managed to grab a spot with extra comfy seats and heating. You can expect around 10 beers on draft, all reasonably priced for the location, and you can choose a board of 5 tasters. There are quite a lot of sharing bottles in the fridges, alongside the usual suspects and one or two newer releases. I chose a small-batch Prearis milk stout brewed especially for the bar. In England this kind of place in this location would be full of people drinking prosecco, kopparberg cider and awful cask bitter. Here, the selection just doesn’t compare. Will definitely call back.
Propably the best terrace in town, if you combine the selection and view. 10 taps and around 50 botlles. Worth a visit especially on a sunny day. Service is almost rude. On the other hand, there are a lot of customers. Atleast the ladies room had an aquaium in the toilet (wife told me).
Rating is for the shop: Not really a beer store, more a shop for everything that tourists relate to Belgium. It is very clean and divided into several seperate rooms and a cellar, where you can finally find the beers. Belgian stuff of course, mostly well-known, but I also found a Milk stout brewed by Préaris for this shop exclusively. Prices are not as high as in other shops, and the staff was very friendly and talkative as well, so worth checking out if close by at least.
Visit here every time we go to Bruges. Good selection of beers and nice to relax outside looking over the canal. It is touristy but well worth spending an hour in a lovely location. Service was good despite being packed.
