This place easily had the best beer we tried on our entire beer trip, amazing stuff. Brewed on a teeny tiny system, they even had five gallon wooden casks in which stuff was aging. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Other brewers were hanging out here, always a good sign Worth going well out of you way just to try their beers.
Been meaning to check out Tampa for quite a while now and Winter Gathering was the perfect opportunity. This is a nice little place with a patio and a small tasting bar. The brewery is in the next room over. They gave our group a bunch of free tasters of some new bottled experiments. Really friendly and hooked us up. Plenty of beers available on tap and some cool glassware to buy.
A cozy little tap room with a nice out door area. Service was awesome, guys and girls were helpful, allowing lots of tasting and advice. They have about 9 beers on taps, all on the lighter side, No malty beers here. Pricing is pretty decent. I really liked hanging out here.
Visited during RBWG 2015. A small operation that packs a lot of action into the space. The inside bar is compact but there’s also some outdoor seating - and seeing as this is Florida, you can probably sit outside comfortably 12 months per year. The selection of beers is solid. They do tasters and the value is great. The bar staff are friendly and efficient; and for the RBWG stop they were especially accommodating, pulling out a bunch of bottles to share. High quality beers. Absolutely worth visiting.
(Visited 07/2015): 7venth Sun is located on Broadway in Dunedin just a block or do from the harbor. There is a private lot next to the building.
The exterior of the building looks like it used to be a convenience store, and the converted building has a small patio in front as well as a walk-up window, plus some picnic tables on the side. The interior is cozy with wood paneled walls and a short standing bar immediately past the entrance. There is a chalk board listing the available beers, and the taps and merchandise are behind the bar. There is a separate room with some barrels and what-not.
The tap room has about 10 beers available. On my visit this included FYA, Mangrove Double IPA, Frenemy, a couple variants of Yeast Bay Nights and a few more. Sample sizes are available. The beers I had were good across the board.
Service on a weekday early evening was good. The bartender was friendly and knowledgeable.
7venth Sun does not serve food.
All in all this is a solid brewery on the coast of Florida. Despite the annoyingly spelled name I would make it a point to visit here any time I am in the area.
Stopped in here during RBWG. Pretty small strip mall-ish location in Dunedin. You could probably fit less than 20 people in the bar itself, though there’s also a covered outdoor patio that’s probably wonderful 11 1/2 months of the year. The staff went above and beyond to open the brewery early so they could accommodate our group. They also generously handed out some samples of their limited bottle releases, so top points for service. There were 10ish beers on tap to choose from. Meads from B. Nektar were also available. Their barrel aged stuff was a little heavy handed for my tastes, but I adored the berliners and hoppy stuff they made available. Do You Even Sudachi Bro? was easily one of the best beers I had during my visit to Tampa. Food seemed to be limited to chips. Prices were great considering the quality of the beer. Several different pour sizes are available, so tickers can easily tour the tap list without paying or drinking too much. Overall, a fantastic spot. Definitely a place I look forward to visiting again.
Visited twice on my latest trip, Sunday Jan 29 and Monday Feb 6, 2017. Still very nice place with great service and interesting taps. Appreciated that short pours can be had of all beers. Some parking in the back, else parking e.g. at HOB and a short walk, though the intersection can be crap to cross when the lights for pedestrians don’t want to work. Some guest drinks, could be by the bottle as e.g. the B. Nektar they had this time around. Shaded patio as well as some seating in the sun. Highly recommended.
Visited on January 19, 2014. They had 10 taps on, one guest at the rest from 7venth Sun. All beers served as 4 or 12 oz, I got the 10 beers as 4 oz for $2 each, also sampled a B. Nektar mead as 4 oz, think that was $4. Nice friendly knowledgeable service. Didn’t eat, don’t think they have a kitchen. Fairly small place, but not crowded when we visited. Some parking available just in the back. Walking distance to Dunedin brewery and Dunedin House of Beers. Nice to be able to buy small samples by the glass for sure!
Stopped in for a few beers. A small brewery with a small bar and area for sitting. Apparently they are going to be expanding into some space next door soon. Bartenders were quite nice and helpful. A nice selection of taps and even had a bottle release available. Prices were nice and had an option for a sample as well. Definitely worth a stop as the beers are quite nice.
A fine, very popular tasting room that seems too small for its popularity. Nice selection, good to great beers. A fun experience which is a typical American taproom, and exactly as it should be, with the smallish brewing kit in rear view, growlers to go and keep you safe on the roads and experimental brews on service. Efficient, professionnal service. Good spot.
