Hands down my favorite place to go when my work calls me to Louisville. Itís a mandatory stop before I head home.
Beerwise, this is one of the best places Iíve found, as the on tap lineup changes completely nigh weekly. If youíre familiar with the Bluegrass Brewing Company, this place is founded and run by some of the original brewers from there. ATG is all about experimentation and having fun with their creations, and while they churn out the occasional miss, they also hit some beautiful homeruns out of the ballpark (literally, theyíre in the stadium for the Louisville Bats). Iíve been there at least half a dozen times, and seen about three dozen different beers theyíve brewed - many of which have been delicious.
While some of the staff arenít exactly beer savants, you will find at least one of the brewmasters working behind the bar most any time youíre in, and they donít mind chatting about the beer. The food is all phenomenal, particularly the (market price) local smoked chicken wings with local honey and your choice of their barbecue sauces (which are whipped up by the chef in much the same way the beers are whipped up by the brewers).
Iíd be here far more often if I actually lived in Louisville. As it stands, Iím glad they ship kegs and bottles to some of the local stores near me.

Went for brunch on a Sunday. Ambiance was bloody Maryís, a DJ playing classic rock with various others, and brewpub. Service was friendly and helpful. Selection offered nine taps and eight bottles. Had all nine and bought one bottle for $26. Food was delicious. Will go again when the beer selection changes (which shouldnít take long). I recommend it overall but the beer was par. Parking is free on Sundays and thatís convenient. Updated the times per new Sunday morning drinking laws.
First off the beers are usually pretty good so no issue there. But the service the last time i went was pretty bad for it to not be as busy as it has been in the past for me...The food is lacking ever since there original chef left (running out of stuff on the menu) But i would recommend the place. Good Beer and good atmosphere...
Cool spot attached to a baseball stadium right in downtown Louisville. Open plan venue with a warehouse feel to it. I visited at 8ish on a Friday night and expected to find the place rammed. Instead, the place was about half full with plenty of seats at the bar available. My bartender was a bit of a cow, reluctant to answer questions etc. However, the rest of the staff were really friendly and chatty. 8 house beers on tap. No guests. ATG are pretty prolific, so there was plenty of new stuff to try. Flights of 6 set beers are offered. About 8 bottles were also available. Prices for the beers were great. Overall, a must-visit if youíre in the area.
Stopped in here on two occasions. One after a baseball game at the field it is attached to, and the next was the following afternoon for a Bo & Luke release event. Both times were awesome. Parking could be an issue if there is a game going on while you are visiting, but otherwise, thereís a dedicated parking lot. The staff here all knew their stuff and they all seemed to be beer people. The beers they had on tap and cask were easily found listed on a big chalk board by the back entrance. The food menu sounded pretty good. I ordered the pickled things tray and it was very good. The pricing was starting to get toward the high end, but I was happy with the food I received. Overall, this is a very cool place and I would very much like to come back again.
Stopped by here for the first time for the Bo & Luke variants release on 4/19/14. Place is attached to a baseball stadium, which I was not expecting. No parking nearby but I found easy free streetside parking about 2 blocks away. It was a beautiful day so I didnít mind walking at all. The place has a huge patio which was packed when I visited. Inside there is a big room with a 3 story ceiling with lots of tables, and a long bar. I took a seat at the bar.. They arenít very flexible with the tasters. In fact they werenít supposed to be doing tasters at all on the day I visited, but the bartender was super kind and hooked me up. Overall the bartender that helped me during the 1st half of my stay was fantastic, clearly a veteran of the place. She was very nice, knowledgeable, and helpful. Once she left and the variants party got started, though, service became bare bones, understandably so. It was pretty efficient at any given time. The selection is about 11 house brews and 2 house casks. Almost all of the ATG beers were fantastic, definitely a standout brewpub. I didnít have any food during my stay but what I saw looked awesome. Great place, if nothing else, for the beer. Will return. Tasting ATG from the source was a pleasure.
Iíve been to this place several times and while I like their beer selection, Iíve found their service to be somewhat mediocre. Sometimes youíll get waited on quickly. Other times, you might wait several minutes. For this reason I gave it a mediocre rating. Should service issues get better, Iíll re-rate it.
I have been looking forward to visiting ATG after having several of their beers over the past couple years. It did not disappoint. Very cool space within the minor league baseball stadium. The food was awesome. We had some pork nachos and smoked wings. The meat was so smoky and delicious. The beers were awesome, not surpisingly. Citra Ass Down is always a favorite. An Ale Pleasure was pretty tasty too. You gotta go if youíre in Louisville.
Visited on 2/28/14. This was by far my favorite stop in my short visit to Louisville. Very nice place that smells of BBQ cooking away. Our waitress was cool and though not an expert, was very much able to talk about what was on tap and available in bottles. I had smoked chicken and some sides and it was all awesome! The beer was pretty good, too! I really enjoyed their theme idea: hop, malt, smoke, etc. Good times, good food, and good beer!

Spent several quality hours in this joint earlier this year, most in the always-awesome company of Josh and Jacqui. Affixed to the minor league ballpark, with its Pee Wee Reese statue out front, this is a well-appointed and fairly typical-looking brewpub. But I appreciate the emphasis on smoked deliciousness, as well as the quality of the brews. Excellent lineup of high quality sessions brews and loads of special stuff (including some nice cask offerings). Great service, reasonably priced, very relaxing. An all-around must when in Louisville.
Love the vibe in the place, though the picture of one of the owners glaring down at you scared my kids. Great bbq, and an ever changing lineup of beers. Some are as good as you will find anywhere and others leave you wondering what they were thinking when they came up with that combination. Service is always great, even on game days when the place is packed.
