This is an upscale grocery store. The size and variety of the selection is solid. Nothing particular special. Prices are high. No real reason to go here unless you are also looking to buy some expensive food.
Pretty nice AJs with a slightly better selection than others but not quite as good as the Arcadia location. I did like however how the singles in the cooler stretch the entire length of the isle. They have some good stuff here like most AJs but just a bit better. Most of these have exactly the same store layout except for Arcadia seems a little different. Fun grocery store chain. I might drop in here again if I’m in the area (passing right by).
Stopped in here earlier today since it is right down the street from my aunt’s place where we are staying while in town. Not really sure what all the fuss is about honestly, if you include the wine and spirits I can kinda see why people love it so much. They have one long open cooler displaying all of the beers. Atmosphere was like any grocery store bottle area, a few people milling around and one or two people floating around to help them. Quality was decent but nothing amazing, most bottles were in date but they had three Mikkeller IPA’s from three years ago. Service was good. I was approached by two different workers asking if I needed help. Selection was pretty good overall. Lots of locals and nationals and even some europeans mixed in. The hopslam, eclipse stout and woodcut stood out from the rest but at the prices they wanted for them I passed. Overall a decent enough grocery bottle shop but nothing overly special.
Stopped here a few times while in Scottsdale. Very nice grocery store with a great beer selection. Service was seldom to be found. Great grocery store food and prepared food to go. Value was a bit high on some beers compared to other places. Overall a great place to stop and check out the selection and get some groceries.
Very nice selection. Don’t know if it deserves such high marks, but you won’t be disappointed. No one was able to answer questions. No one asked if I needed anything. Prices seemed on the high side. Still, worth stopping by.

If this were boxing this place would be the pound for pound champion. While they may only have 300+ beers much of what they have is of great quality. There’s probably more Mikeller here then in the entire state of Arizona. They also have nogne 0, ale smith, old dubh, jolly pumpkin among others. The prices are not cheap but they have a lot of stuff here you won’t find in many other places. 9/25/13 They still have a really solid pick six options but there are other better options in the area most notably Sun Devil Liquors.
Great beer selection! Walt, the cellar master, is extremely knowledgable and will get his hands on reserve series.

My domain! 350+ Beers from some of the best breweries around the country and world. If it’s in AZ, chances are that I have it. Feel free to call any time between 10-8 for inquiries. This year we are going to be getting in gear and holding more free tastings for the public as well as some exlcusive releases.
EDIT: WAS my domain. I recently made a stop back by just out of sheer curiosity. The selection size is still there, but the quality has suffered slightly since my departure. Still quite a bit to choose from, just don’t expect to find a diamond in the rough.

Update: This place has fallen off since Walter left. They hired a ’wine guy’ instead and the beer selection is now average. Not worth the trip unless you are in the area.
