What the hell is a Tiki Bar?!?!? Now I know… my first Tiki Bar, probably my last. This is certainly one of the most kitsch place listed on ratebeer I’ve ever been to. Inside it looks like a lame attempt at a hawaiian or tropical islands bar, kind of décor you expect to find in a tacky tropical island tourist resort bar. A few benches on the sidewalk can sit about 12 people and that’s where we sat because frankly the interior... Most of the customers were drinking exotic cocktails that have cute colors and come with cute little accessories. Tap list is 3 offerings from the lame Aass brewery and 3 offerings from Nøgne Ø (including their own exclusive Nøgne Ø house beer). I think they have a few bottles too, not sure, I didn’t ask. Basically I went there because it is about 50 meters away from a bar I really enjoyed (Grünerløkka Brygghus) and also because I wanted to try their special house beer (Nøgne Ø Aku Aku Lemongrass Ale) which was quite an experience in lemongrass excess. A curiosity pit-stop at best.
Located right next to Grunerløkka Brygghus this is a tropical-bar with a not to good beer selection. They have their own Nøgne - Aku Aku Lemongrass as the most interesting thing I could spot and a few others Norwegian micros. Nice atmosphere, but I think this is more a place where you go to drink good drinks. Nice and polite staff and not to crowded if you’re a bit early.
