Nice little neighborhood pub. Service is slow but friendly. Good variety on their ten or so taps, with some high quality selections. Nice comfortable vibe. Prices solid. Decent hangout if youíre waiting for the breweries nearby to open up.
Platform type bar off to one side and a bunch of tables, basic layout, with two small tables on the sidewalk as a token patio. Titletown beers available and one FFF, from a GTMW eve event. Server was friendly. Food was OK. Like most Madison places they do mainly pints, but at least they were offering half pints as well. Cash only, ATM in the middle of the place. Samplers would be nice, and so would 1990s technology.
Have been here a couple times when in town. Food is pretty good, local fare I believe. Some nice taps. Friendly service and nice vibe in the place. I wouldnít go arcoss town to seek it out but with its location you might be there anyway.
Stopped by here late on Saturday night after GTMW, with nuplastikk. I was hungry and wanted to try another beer. This place satisfied on both fronts. I had a bison burger which was perfectly cooked (donít see that often) and delicious. They also had a new beer for me to rate on tap, Boffoís Belgian Cousin. About $11 for the burger, $5 for the beer, worth every penny. Bar inside was a little loud and crowded so I didnít spend long in there. We sat out on the patio which was nice, but the waiter was rushing us a bit. Overall, I was happy with my stay, definitely a great decision to stop by there. Food and beer was just perfect.
Nice place with 10 beers on tap and a nice menu (although I didnít eat). The server was very friendly and knowledgable. I was looking for other places to have a beer and he wrote down several suggestions for me. I was able to enjoy watching World Cup and chatting it up with other patrons at the bar.
Arrived pretty late after hiking a long way through Madison and bar hopping along the way. Luckily the kitchen was still open. There was a band playing, the place was maybe 3/4 full, and the servers didnít seem to give a crap that we were there. After 15 minutes of waiting I started walking around trying to get the attention of a server but to no avail. Just as I suggested to our group that we leave someone finally showed up with a beer list.
We got a flight of Dark Horse beers, a pint of another beer, and ordered food. The food was decent, the beers were mostly weird but thatís alright, and the band was meh. Probably would not return here.
Stopped by on a Sunday morning for a bite. The place is very quaint, with an old fashion saloon look. Tap selection was just O.K. nothing like Old Fashions but still a decent selection. Food was pretty good with lots of localy grown and butchered stuff. Service was good and ambience was pretty dead that day. Overall a pretty good quiet place to eat and have a beer.
Visited again this past weekend, got there right around lunch time and we had the place to ourselves. Tap selection wasnít great, but they did have two Southern Tier imperial beers on, food was actually pretty darn good, nice stop on the East side if youíre on your way to The Malt House and Dexters.
