They only have Andechser beers, but what else do you want? The food is very very good and the mustard is quite possibly the greatest (excpet for beer) thing I have ever tasted. Unbelievable atmosphere sitting outside about 10 feet from the Frauenkirche church. The service is European, so its slow and relaxed, but why would you be in a hurry to leave?

If you can’t make it out to Andechs, you should definitely hit up this place. The Doppelbock is unbelievable. Even Bill Clinton came to this place!
Being smaller than other "main" bars in Munich, we couldn’t find a place to sit inside on a December weeknight, so we took a table outside. The staff wasn’t exactly quick, but they were polite. Beer selection is very good, we tried their Doppelbock Dunkel and it was poured in a proper glass on the right temperature. Shame it got to cold, since we were sitting outside.
Centrally located behind the Frauenkirche. Upstairs seats are a bit limited but there is more space downstairs. Service is very friendly and effective. Even when crowded you do not have to wait long without reservation. Food is way above the normal bavarian brewpub standards. Can be good to very good. Beer is from Andechser and of very good quality. Highly recommended.
A really nice tap room and restaurant, slightly tucked away from the hustle and bustle but right in the thick of things. Most of their offerings were available on tap, and the place had a very classy feel to it. On the steps going down to the bathroom and all around the lower level, there are some awesome pics of the monks throwing back beers with the general public. Priceless. I’d say make it to the monestary in Andechs if you can. If you can’t, it’s necessary you hit this place. If it were me (and it was) - I’d hit both.
i really love this damn place. the beers are great. andechser only, but very tasty. the food is great. i got some pig body part. who knows what part! thats the fun of eating here. just point at some german name and see what you get. try their brewskies doggies.
A lovely ’blink-and-you miss-it’ bar tucked neatly aside the massive edifice of the Frauenkirche. Small interior but enough seating outside to soak up the Bavarian sun. Mixed crowd of young and old, mostly business-types enjoying a lunch and a few bevvies. Service was great, the waiters polite and efficient as is normal in all of Deutschland. And the food - ample, tasty and well-presented, not entirely local fare which is good. Nice collection of photos inside, wood panelled bar, rest-rooms downstairs, and, more importantly, is the Andechser biers vom fass and available in the bottle for home consumption. Nice and quiet, away from the hustle and bustle and aside one of the most beautiful buildings in München. Nice!!!
