For an out of towner this place is the greatest. I have beers shipped to me pretty regularly. Lots of selection and things that I can’t get locally. Randy is pretty on the ball as far as turning me on to different beers that I’d like. Great selection, service, and shipping to boot!!!
Ok...I’m rating this on my shopping experience--over the internet. Randy is a class act....went out of his way to work with me and quickly at that. Packaged my order perfectly, the best of any shipper I’ve ever worked with. No, their selection isn’t has huge as some, but they do stock some very select ales. TF, Bells, Goose Island...as far as I’m concerned that’s awesome! I’ll be working with Archer Liquors a lot in the future.
** Update March 2014**
Haven’t interacted with Archers in many years. Finally checked the site again and it’s good to see Archer is doing well. Love their new packaging concept, and the selection is as good as I remember! Keep up the great work Randy!
simply a great example of customer service via online beer ordering. randy is a great guy who was constantly in touch with me about my order. packing was superb (pretty much bomb proof) and the prices were reasonable. great selection of midwest beers we can’t get here on the east coast. thanks for finally giving me the chance to try three floyds, especially fresh. definitely a pleasure doing business with and i will certainly order again.
Stopped in today to check out what was on the shelves. Saw here on ratebeer that they might have something I was looking for. They weren’t able to find it, but I did have three people on the case, and a call to the guy in charge to try and help. If I could give a higher score for customer service, I would. Selection was organized by brewery and very good, but not as good, I think, as the ratings here suggest. Still, some hard to find things, clean, and a very helpful staff.
Not sure how to rate a beer store in Chicago from SW Washington state. The building could be a dive. I doubt they have food. But make no mistake - on service alone, you can trust Randy. I received two phone calls and multiple emails during the order process. This was my first mail order for beer. 6 bombers of Three Floyds Dreadknaught and two 6-packs of Bells Hopslam arrived this afternoon. Assuming they live up to the hype, I won’t hesitate to order from him again.
Update: Upped my ratings because repeat visits keep turning up the treasures, like the first place to have FFF Brew Doo around here. The Bell’s selection is unrivaled amongst the places I’ve shopped. This place rocks! Will be a frequent shopper here.
Glad one of my beer buddies turned me on to Archer Liquors. Stopped by tonight on my way home from work. Things I’ve not seen anywhere else - Avery Mephostophelese and Bell’s Hell Hath No Fury as examples. The guy that owns / runs this place understands quality craft brews really well. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area. Will return many times! Nice website and RSS feed so you can keep up to date with new brews coming in. Excellent. One awesome feature, you can take a single from any six pack - makes it SO much easier to sample something that you’re not quite sure about, without the anxiety of blowing money on a six pack to discover you just don’t like it.
Mail order review. Wow I think I found the gem of the internet as far as mail orders go. The order process is simple & easy. You send Randy the list of the beers you want with your address & he responds back in a very timely process. In no way are you left in the dark in the process. The prices are very reasonable & so is the shipping. The boxes are packed well, & always come in quicker than I expected(they have a packaging meter on there site that lets you know about how long it will take to ship from that day you order). The Fresh Report is also nice so you can see how fresh the beers are that you are ordering with bottled on dates on there site. This is my access to the Midwest brewers(Bells, Founders, FFF). Oh & by the way Randy is the man.
