One more update. Last visit was in November 2012. Been here many times with the place having many different names and much different staff. Also the beer selection have varied a lot over time. Simple way of getting here is to take green or red line metro to Gamla Stan, walk straight up to Västerlånggatan and take a right, walk until you see the flag on the right hand side. Selection is decent, prices are fairly high, service is OK. I am biased since I have seen and experienced both selection and service decline over the years, so I tend to not seek this place out any longer. This coupled with it being located in a very touristy area with high prices just have me frequent the place less every time I go back to Stockholm.
The place formerly known as Glenfiddich Warehouse. 28 taps with swedish and foreign micros, mostly of high quality. Some gems, for example their house beer 'Ardbeg No 1', a super interesting smoked beer. Also a fine bottle list. The old 'gubbe' behind the bar was extremely friendly and very knowledgeable and he made our visit a splendid experience. Prices are swedish
Nice cousy whisky place! Located in the narrow streets of Stockholm old town. Nice area, with a lot of tourist traps. If you like whisky, this is the place to go. Anyway a kind of decent beer selection. Also “their own” beer made at Strömsholms Brygghus. Beer and whisky in one glass. Ardbeg o hoi. The only place to get it
An interesting but fairly limited selection of Swedish craft beers, and a huge selection of whiskies (if you’re so inclined- prices by the centiliter, varying from SEK 30 to SEK 1800, no kidding!). Friendly and knowledgeable bartender. Didn’t try the food, altough the menu did look tempting. If you visit Gamla Stan, it’s probably a good idea to pop inside for a beer or two.
I really really don’t get why this place is so high up there... Mainly a whiskey place. The beers we had from draught were horrible!! And it wasn’t because those were bad brews, it was because they were already on tap for waaay to long, or due to bad tap cleaning. Anyways, two worst beers I had in 5 days. It’s quite expensive to pay 18 euro for 2 horrible beers. The only good thing about this place is the atmosphere. Would never go back.
Modern interior that is rather cozy and laidback. Mostly focused on whiskey, but has a decent selection of beer. Mostly local craft beers. Situated a short walk from the beer pubs on Södermalm and on the way to the ones in the city.
