Located just on the other side of Hofbräuhaus, this place tries to be a bit posh. Which means that it sometimes it’s not so easy to get a place. But if you do, you get to try the Jahrhundert from a wooden barrel, an experience you shouldn’t miss. Can’t say much more about this, but definitely worth going there just for the barrel.
I sat outside both times, and so the ambience was all relaxation and people watching in the sunshine! Service was fast and helpful. Selection is just the main Ayinger beers, as one might expect. Food was excellent! I had the roast pork in dark beer sauce and it was delicious.
Not the typical large bierhalle, but more intimate one. still same Munich styled. Tradfitional food paired with house beers. Weird thing that our waiter filled all the mugs of different beers (after waiting for the head to go down, german traditional pouring tecnique) with the same tap.
Nice spot - much cozier and intimate than some of the other beer halls in town. Reservations are essential for large groups. The beer, as expected was quite good. Food included the kind of stodgy fare that’s ubiquitous in Munich. Service was slow and steady. Wifi was available. Overall, easily one of the better drinking spots in town. Great Ayinger beers in fairly relaxed surroundings - what’s not to like?

A beautiful restaurant right in the touristy centre of Munich. You should book a table if you want to have dinner there, it’s usually quite busy. They have the Jahrhundert from the wooden barrel (only after 5pm) and some other Ayinger beers which are, of course, top-notch quality. The food is traditional Bavarian cuisine and really well-made. Service is nicer than usual for traditional places in Bavaria and prices are standard for this location and it’s not too expensive, but also not cheap. Definitely the place to have a good dinner.
