A huge and stunning spot with a great patio, lounge, dining and bar area. Service in the bar is a tad slow when it gets busy, but as with other locations small pours and flights in great glasses. Tons of beers and lots of unique one offs. Food was OK but nothing special and a bit pricey. A nice stop.
Wow, what an amazing place, and seems not to fit in a light industrial area that is otherwise pretty bland. You know you're close when you see all the Ballast Point truck trailers (boxes) outside, plus outside fermenters, some of which are bright red. Inside is huge, class and modern, with a long long bar and tone of restaurant and bar tables. Nice covered outdoor area as well, a deck of sorts. Service was OK despite being busy, although we caught them in between brunch and lunch when the kitchen closes for halk an hour to swap out menus. Brunch menu looked amazing. Food from the lunch menu was tasty enough. Huge number of beers in many styles. Worth a stop for sure.
A huge brewery taproom with nice feel. A nice patio but being in the industrial park hurts the vibe a bit. Service was great and bartender was knowledgeable. They had 40ish taps with samplers available. Food was very good. Prices were decent as well. An awesome spot.
Modern, expansive and comfortable place in an industrial park very close (driving distance) to many other Miramar breweries. Tons of taps, many of which appear to be brewery only beers. They offer flights of 3 for $5, which is a great deal given Ballast Point’s quality and many high gravity beers. Super friendly and generous service with no issues about getting samples. Highly recommended visit.
Visited on a Wednesday afternoon in February 2017. What a massive place with a large restaurant and bar. The service was good and the selection was nice. This place almost felt too large. Walked here from Mikkeller, took around 20 minutes.
My first visit here. Huge facility. You can see the giant grain silos from down the street. It’s in an industrial park, but they’ve taken over the largest part of the building they’re in. Inside, the decor is very modern and stylish yet comfortable. Lots of tables and ample space at the bar. It really seems more like a nice restaurant. Obviously, they serve food, but I didn’t try any. You have a nice view of the copper kettles through the glass to the side of the bar so you don’t forget you’re at a brewery. The tap list was incredible. Lots of R&D beers, and 5-6 Victory at Sea variants. All were top notch quality-wise and, as mentioned below, the prices are very good for what you get. We got several tasters and they didn’t care that we shared them all. Another great thing about this place.....they serve the tasters in the regular large glasses so you can actually get a good whiff of the aroma without dunking your nose into the beer. The service was also superb. Laid back and fun, yet attentive and professional. I really have no complaints about this place. I can’t believe I haven’t stopped in before. I’ll definitely be back whenever I’m back in San Diego.
Giant production brewery with a very well organized and thought out tasting room. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Despite the space, this place gets jam-packed at prime times, so if you’re coming on a weekend, get there a bit early. They usually have 25-30 draft options, which typically includes around 5 one-off R&D beers, and several fruited/spiced/flavored variations of their main one up. Service is always great, and prices are super-reasonable. If you’re used to high price points on Ballast Point products in the grocery store, you’ll be happily surprised with the prices here. $5 will get you 3 four-ounce pours of just about anything, and the pours are usually closer to 5-6 ounces. An awesome place to tick for out-of-towners, and worth repeat visits for locals. Without a doubt one of a handful of "must-visits" in San Diego.
The full scale production site for Ballast Point, with the big boy brewhouses, one of which is copper jacketed and can be seen through a viewing window at the bar. The restaurant is massive, as is the bar and patio, but it was still packed by noon on a Friday, with a wait list. Selection was pretty cool, a lot of one offs you can’t find anywhere besides Ballast locations, and all the cores. Service was solid: quick, friendly, and cool with all four people at the table ordering flights. Food was good, confit nachos and truffle fries may be the only thing worth writing home about though. Definitely a cool stop in San Diego, and pretty close to quite a few other awesome breweries.
A massive restaurant in the middle of Miramar industrial area. Loud and packed on a Sunday afternoon visit. A large selection of R&D beers and spicy gimmick beers. Really slow service, and the food was not that special. But I guess it’s still worth a visit if you are in the area, as it’s pretty much the only brewery in the area that serves food.

Probably 60+ tables for seating inside with a dance club sized bar and an industrial size brewery in the back. Tap list is pretty much all BP with about 1/3 core, 1/3 seasonal, 1/3 special one-offs. Surprisingly, they have less one-off R&D beers here than Little Italy, probably because that location has the tiny fermenters to make those strange beers. Great ambiance and super fun. Family friendly. Everything is immaculate. The food menu looked all new to me with some delicious and unique meatloaf cupcakes...who would have guessed.
