Absolutely great place. We enjoyed the great variety of Spanish microbrews (both taps and bottles) there two nights. Very nice selection and especially the DouGall and Naparbier brews were the highlights of our visits. But the absolute top was the fresh olives Tibor served us. We really had a great night at Bar Animal with teddybeer and my friends. ¡Muchas gracias Tibor!
Visited November 2013. Quiet, rather small place with a great selection on tap and in the fridge. Decent local craft beer too. Please note the opening hours. First time I tried to visit the place, Wednesday right before midnight, they were shutting down.
The quality of the bottle and tap lists here cannot be overstated given what is available in Spain. The brightly lit, coffee shop like atmosphere didn’t inspire a long hangout, but the neighborhood is littered with other destinations.
Another excellent bar in the best area to drink beer in Madrid. 6 rotating taps, fisrt time whenI visited this bar were available 3 types of Lervig Aktiebryggeri, one Mikkeller Green Easter and one De Molen. Also a good selection of bottles, perhaps around 100 different bottle, from Pannepot to To Ol, with a good selection of Spanish microbreweries. Don’t forget the taps that Tibor serves you with each beer. Highly recommended place...
This new place in Madrid is very nice! The tap selection among with the bottle list is excellent! The staff is friendly and the place, also if small, is good. Maybe a little bit to noisy for me. Check it out cause this is a nice place!
Pretty small bar with a handful of regulars drinking on a Thursday evening. The beer selection was a good mix of styles and high quality beers though only 3/12 taps were Spanish. Quite a few UK beers from Siren, Kernel, and Magic Rock. Beers were served in great condition. 3 options for draft sizes, and prices were decent. Small selection of bottles. The bartender mentioned that in a few weeks they would only stock bottles of beers that age well such as stouts and sours. Friendly staff that were knowledgeable about the beers. Ate some meat and cheese which were pretty mediocre. Overall I’d say it’s better than I expected for a Madrid bar though it doesn’t compare to the best beer bars around Europe and is also a step below Irreale in Madrid.
A bar that specializes in scarce specialties, mostly from Europe (Struise, Mikkeler, Brewdog, DeMolen etc.). Spanish micros are present is lesser degree, as well as some other, less known foreign micros. Snacks served with beer were great, can’t rate the cuisine but it seemed great from what I’ve seen. Excellent and friendly service, from the other side very knowledgeable and professional. Not saying that only as it was a friendly visit, all guests are treated the same. I’ve had some of my best beers ever at the place, and I believe everything I had was not Spanish, so for the locals and beertravelers alike, this place is a must in Madrid!
