Roughly 70 taps, with half on one level, and the other half -featuring different beers - on another level.
I was quite pleased with the selection. None of the taps were wasted on various iterations of BudMillerCoors fizzy yellow stuff.
The food was good. The pizza didn’t wow me, but it wasn’t bad. The black bean hummus was great, and I enjoyed a jerk chicken wrap on a second visit.
I found the servers to be friendly and prompt, although not necessarily beer experts.
I certainly plan a return visit on my next visit to SC.
This is for sure the best beer bar in town. A great selection of beer on tap and a massive selection of bottles. The often have some more rare choices on tap which is great. They recently redid the food menu so now the food is actually good (still no fries though!). The one thing I really liked there was the meatballs. Price for food is average and price for beer is pretty good.

Decor could use an update, kind of stuck in 10 years ago, but still nicely maintained. Bartender was very nice, up on the beer knowledge and definitely prompt. Selection was great, lots of locals on tap and obviously lots of stone stuff, had bottles I had never seen anywhere else. Food was alright, nothing to write home about but satisfies you when you’re a few beers deep. Solid visit when you’re in town.
Bigger place in the very nice Greenville downtown area. Pool tables, darts shuffle board, pub food. Upstairs and downstairs both have lot’s of options, each different. Bartender was very knowledgeable, had a good conversation about sours. Nothing they had blew me away, but a wide variety of styles. Definitely worth a stop.
this place seems to be run by derelicts, hippies and general malcontents... but i like it! who’da thunk a bar in the middle of basically nowhere would be packed in the middle of the summer on a sunday afternoon?!... plus 60+ taps!... you kidding me?... great pizza!... great atmosphere upstairs and down!.... i’d be here every day if i lived close. this stupid pizza shop makes every ’beer bar’ in phx look amateur.
my only complaint is the crazy expensive bottle reserve list.
good pizza, great selection of beer...always something new to try either on tap or from the bottle. 2 floors with different taps on each. service can be hit or miss, but they are always pretty knowledgable. best place for beer in greenville, though, without question.
This is the biggest Barley’s and it’s also in good shape. It’s in a nice downtown area. There are plenty of beers to try here, mainly micros from around the area. I think the frustrating 6% law and the distributors prevent the beer selection from being better than it is, but it’s definitely satisfactory. There are plenty of pool tables upstairs which are spread out nicely and some dart boards as well.
I’d just like to add that I’ve visited here since SC raised the 6% lmit. Barley’s is going nuts already. Nearly half of their selection was dedicated to higher alcohol craft brews on my visit. This did seem to subtract from some regional stuff, but, I’d say the newer lineup of beers is of much higher quality.

I’ve visited a few times since the cap on beer has been raised and it has made a world of difference. This is now my favorite Barley’s location due to the sheer number of quality beer on tap. Not a staggering amount of regional stuff is available, but it is great to see things like Double Simcoe and Racer 5 on tap. They regularly have limited offerings from Brooklyn and Rogue. The ambiance makes for a really enjoyable bar visit. Plenty of pool tables along with foosball,
table hockey, and even shuffleboard are available. The upstairs is very spacious and not nearly as crowded as downstairs. My bartender was particularly awesome yesterday. He took a chance engaging me in very vulgar conversation, which luckily I found to be quite amusing. Good amount of cajones or perhaps just lack of concern on his part. Great service, regardless.
Good place to eat, or just hang out upstairs playing some pool or darts. Pizza is good - for South Carolina. Easliy the best selection of beers in the area, with a good variety and a good number offered. Note that different beers are available upstairs and downstairs.
Very nice bar right in the middle of beautiful downtown Greenville. Too bad its 30 min away from Clemson.
Incredible tap and bottle selection, way over 100.
What I had/saw: Founder’s Imperial Stout, Terrapin Depth Charge, Oaked Yeti/Espresso Oak Yeti, Rochefort 10, BORIS, Storm King, + much much more.
The waitstaff was friendly, pretty knowledgeable about their selections, and the prices were pretty good (most taps $4-6, BORIS/Storm King were very pricey) Rochefort 10 was $10
I will definitely be returning to this bar, and the good thing is that you can go in, buy a bottle, and take it home, so if your on the go, or you spot something rare, take it to go as well.
