nice setting, just themed too much like an applebeeís or something.not enough room for a bar, too crowded for a restaurant. the food was pretty good, but just standard pub fare items. beer is good, not great. they had one amazing casked iipa that was phenomanal, all the others were so-so and the staples were, well, staples. friendly and cute staff, service was prompt. would be a 10, but they were not very beer savvy. worth a stop if you are headed north, but if you live far away you are better off to just buy some bombers.
Smelled a bit like epcot center...restauranty atmosphere with a bar up front...pretty good selection of beers available. The food, I only had appetizers, was standard brewpuby-type food. Didnít see the production facility, just the restaurant. It was decent though, just not anywhere to drive out of the way to.
Good brewpub in a quaint little Nor Cal town. My wife and I sat out on their deck and had a nice lunch (food was pretty good) and I had a sampler of their beers(16!!). The brews were good and the service was really good. I think Healdsburg is a neat little town and a this place is a must visit.
A surprisingly not very pretty pub in the pretty town center of Healdsburg. Bear Republic is on an alley by Healdsburg avenue and has a weird terrace on the back where lighting remains subtle in the evening and huge metal fermentors force the waiters to dance around to reach their customers. Still, we had good service and were quite impressed by the beer selection. There were 16 of their beers on draught including a whole lot of stuff that does not go into the bottles. Since itís a talented brewery, you may very easily fall onto interesting discoveries, but I would avoid Belgian styles which tend to be overly sweet. A satisfying experience for people who dig the brewery, but not quite essential in this area where so many breweries reside.
Stopped by for an early lunch with some friends who live in town, so,,,,not a problem finding it, Second time there, first time eating, Park in the back and walk towards the little mall. We were the first ones to sit on the deck, and the staff was very accomodating. The server was quickly there and ran through the tap list and the food specials, answering all of our questions. Food was good for a brewery, and the beer was excellent. Had the portabella sandwich with the garlic fries, very tasty, but, again, it is all about the beer.
A solid little brewpub that unfortunately paled in comparison to Russian River which we had visited just before. Place was nearly impossible to find, tucked back behind a couple other buildings. When we got in there it was packed (It was Valentines Day) so we actually just stood near the bar area and ordered our sampler tray. The beers were mediocre to great, but many of the better ones I had already had in bottled form many times. The atmosphere was typical of a brewpub, but lost some points for it being so packed and rowdy. The bartenders did their best, but it was a losing situation. Would like to visit again when itís less busy.
Nice place. Hard to find (itís back off the main street). Typical brewpub atmosphere. Lots of great beer on tap. Big samplers available and sometimes you get freebies. Food is reasonable. You can also buy bottles of their stuff on the premises.
