Cool spot with just the bar and some hangout space, no brewing here, but plenty of seating and definitely a fun atmosphere. Service was good, fun and knowledgeable. Selection leans towards their adjunct beers, but some solid hops too. It's another you can stop at if in the North Park area for Modern Times and Mike Hess.
Visited on a Tuesday evening in late January 2017. The place was not crowded during my visit. The service was friendly and the selection was good. I really love the 30th Street with all the different places. I must go back to San Diego in the future.
You gotta love the name! Do beavers belch? I suppose they do. Interior is small and rough, giving a cozy and unpretentious feel. They have just a few of their brews on-tap, but all range from good to great. When I was there, a couple people had brought their dogs, but the pooches were well-behaved. No loud music or distracting TVs, just good beer, plenty of places to sit including a couple sofas, and friendly folks.
Visited 22.4.16. Stumbled upon this tasting room as we were walking on the way to another beer place on the street, and figured what the hell. The beautiful "Greetings From" mural was a big plus for us. Food truck was standing outside. It was very crowded and noisy when we got there. Still found a relatively quiet corner. The sweet stout was really nice, the rest were ok-ish. Clearly a welcoming place with board games and such scattered around.
We came here on 17.2.2016. Parking was a challenge, it seemed guests from this pub are not welcome at any of the surrounding parking places. We parked at the shopping center not too far away. Small nice pub (liked the large photo of their brewery on the left side, bar is too small) with very friendly service. Unfortunately the beer selection on this day was limited due to some capacity issues (apparently they open up 2-3 more pubs). We enjoyed a 1$ off the pint deal due to the 3pm to 6 pm happy hour. Highlight was the P-butter stout tapped with nitro. Overall a good place to come back again.
For some reason I was not a big fan of this place. A standard tasting room set up. Like many SD places, large open windows ad the front and plenty of seating around the bar. Place was relatively crowded when i stopped in but not too bad. A bit of a frat crowd, which was off-putting. They had a food truck out front, which was cool. The beers are generally pretty good, but the vast majority of them were heavy, syrupy, specialty versions of their stout. Service was decent enough. Eh.
Nice place, walking distance to Rip Current and Toronado. Focus on their own beers, flights available. Great quality on the beers, decently busy on a Saturday early evening. Nice to sit and look out over 30th Street while you have a beer.
