Bello Vino is awesome. Anything you want in singles, great. A fantastic selection of Michigan micros and world beers. Drew and Matt are some of the most knowledgeable beer purveyors around. Prices are great too.
Basically a hippie natural foods market in a strip mall. In the back it has a pretty extensive selection of beer. Most of it is in open shelves, but some some is in coolers. Pretty extensive selection of mostly belgain and american beers, lots of regulars and some real gems, along with a good selection of local beers. Definitely worth a visit.
Very nice beer/wine shop. One of the better selections of Belgian beer and glassware that I’ve seen. Was able to pick up some good Michigan beer and some Belgians not available in my local. Good, friendly help(BigDaddyWill & GrandCruDrew). A must stop if in the area.
Bello Vino is a MUST for Ann Arbor area brew-lovers.
They have a HUGE selection of both wine and beerimportand AND local varieties.
The staff there is always awesomethey’ll tell you what’s selling, what they like, what others seem to be liking, or just any general info/shooting the shit with you. The 3 or so usual beer guys are always friendly and always helpful.
One of my favorite aspects of this place is that they will always single-out ANY bottle of beer from a larger pack for you to try if that is your desire. Not only that, they have a large area of pre-singled out beers already pre-priced for individual sale. I love this, because it’s a cheap way for me to try lots of different beers.
Bello Vino is the primo store in the area.
PS. Oh yeah, they have lots of grourmet grocery items as well, as well as an awesome, fresh produce section.
I thought this place had a very nice selection. They have several singles, 4’s and 6 packs. They have many hard to find beers and is worth a stop if driving near Ann Arbor. Its located just a mile off the freeway.
The staff at Bello Vino is second to none. Drew is excellent in his beer knowledge. The only drawback is their limited space leads to a smaller selection. Then again they still have one of if not the best selection of beer in all of SE Michigan and definately the best in Ann Arbor.
Stopped here back in Spring of 2006. Was surprised to see six packs of Bells Batch 7000 on the shelves many months after its release. They also had a lot of Kuhnhenn stuff, including Raspberry Eisbock ($9/6oz). A very nice store amd the Kuhnhenn stuff alone is worth stopping if for, especially if you don’t feel like driving to Warren.
I stopped by here on a drive from Madison to Cleveland. Despite being gameday in Ann Arbor there was not much traffic to deal with. The easiest way to get to it is from 23.
If you walk all the way to the back you’ll find a nice treasure trove of beers. There were plenty of Belgian beers as well as almost all the local Michigan breweries. The best thing about this store is they carry everything available from Jolly Pumpkin. When I was there they had the La Roja Reserva and Bam Noire (750 mls). You can also get the relabeled beers that are done by JP. Other highlights were special releases from Arcadia and shorts. I ended up walking out with $60 worth of beer despite promising myself to keep it a cheap trip.
Stopped by here on a quick trip through Ann Arbor. I was instantly impressed by this store. The selection is really good. I have never seen so much beer in a grocery store before. Most of the stuff they sell is in six pack form, but they had no problem letting me break up six packs. The beer guy that helped me (Matt) was extremely nice and very helpful. Lots of local beers here, and they love to show off their local Michigan beers to a Californian like myself. On a side note, the wine selection at this store is amazing, if you are so inclined to purchase wine as well.
One of the best I’ve been to - knowledgeable and friendly and helpful service, decent prices, good local selection and lots of lambics and imports - and they’ll break six-packs if you ask nicely (I only broke two)
Located in a little strip mall. If you wade your way through all the wine you’ll find the beer holed up in the corner of the building. Very nice selection. Lots of stuff available as singles but the vast majority is fours and sixes. Too bad too. I would have bought another dozen had there been a better singles selection. Still, walked out with several cool bombers and 12oz singles. If I’m back in the Detroit area at some point this place will be a must.
