Great little place. In an old garage, well decorated, with brewing facilities in plain site. Service was good, despite it being crowded. Selection of house brews, "guest taps" (DDC frequently), and a selection of bottles from Belgium and Quebec (of very high quality). 26 bottles the last time I went. I’ve tried sampling everything each time I go, and so far everything’s been good. Witchshark, however, is the clear overall winner. The store next door sometimes has good selection, sometimes only 1 beer. Decent value - the food is expensive, but it is of high quality. I love coming here any time I’m on the West side of Toronto.
The best brewpub in Canada? The best brewpub in Canada. Incredible atmosphere, prompt service, and Bellwoods’ own outrageously good beers. It gets pretty full on the weekends or a mildly nice day, so go early and stay late.
We really liked this small brewpub / restaurant in Toronto. Quite busy on the Tuesday evening that we visited, all the tables were taken, so we sat at the bar. Girl at the bar was really friendly and knowledgeable (a true beer geek), got lots of good tips on other places to visit. Tap selection is quite small but I really liked the beers that I tried, especially the Monogamy Citra (single hop IPA). Food was excellent (we had the duck meatballs and spicy mussels with some fries and a tomato salad). Prices were OK. Would definitely recommend.
Busy elfesco bar in a cool trendy area, slight wait in line to get in. House beers brewed on site are very good, also had a couple guest taps to. Servers at the bar were very nice, didn’t eat but it the food smelt great.
This is a really busy spot in what appears to be the hipster block of Toronto. Got a place at the bar though tables had longer waits. They have a pretty small selection of beers but they are pretty good and you can get sample sized pours. I got a huge 500ml bottle of one of their beers though, i would recommend sharing those. The service was really good, especially the cute 2nd blonde haired bartender I got. The food was good had some really nicely done fried chicken. Overall this is a good place. The bottleshop was pretty nondeScript.
Visited on Sunday afternoon, place was full with a waiting list. They have around 6 big stools outdoor, some heating but nothing that would actually make it bare able to sit outside. Inside has a long bar with the brewery equipment at the end and dozen of tables, and a narrow second floor balcony with some small tables. Tap selection is 6-8 Bellwood’s with 2 guest taps, no flights, but they pour 4 oz glasses. Bottles list includes some more rare stuff. Ambiance is nice, they serve food which people seems to enjoy but I didn’t had any. Store next door had the exact same bottles that were on tap, that a pity.... Overall fun, good beers and worth a visit.
Really nice busy brewpub in Toronto. If you’re on a layover (like I was) you can take the airport train to Bloor, then Bloor Dundas west subway to Ossington, and the Ossingnton bus stops right in front of Bellwoods. Anyway nice patio and indoor bar. Decent food. Good fast and friendly service but perhaps not as informative about the beers as they would be when its not so busy. (Whenever that might be). Good selection of Bellwoods and guest taps and a great (but expensive) bottle list. A good stop in Toronto.
Located in the Portuguese quarter, this informal and relaxed brewpub is a must-visit when in Toronto. The selection includes delicious own brews on taps and in bottles as well as some other decent bottled craft beers. The staff are knowledgeable and very friendly. Reasonable prices. Flights available. Did not try the food but it looked okay. There is a retail store right next door. It is really worth the trip from the strict centre of the city.
