Beautiful location overlooking in LB pier and beach. Food was good, I had clam cownder and Asian salad. Beer selection was limited with 10 taps and 7bbl system. Belmonts’ brews were average, but the selection of the month was solid IPA as with the LB Crude Stout were their best. 5 guest taps with Smog City’s Hoptonic IPA, Ports’ Mongo IPA and can’t remember 3 others. A solid brewpub but nothing to go out of your way for.
Had lunch here on a Monday afternoon. They have an outdoor patio area over-looking the beach and the ocean, which is pretty dope. Very cheap sampler of the 6 house beers (I think it was $7), and they had an additional small batch espresso stout when I visited. My fish tacos were good, and the service was attentive but not overbearing. The inside seemed a little darker and gloomier. Parking sucks. The beers are very average. Nothing bad, but nothing really that good either. Doesn’t look like they have much of a rotation; it seems like they have 5 regulars and 1 or 2 rotating lines.
Small little brewpub that would seem to be hard to get to had I not parked out on the street to go to ABC Wine & Spirits and just walked down here. Pretty much right on the beach, which is cool. Decently crowded on a Tuesday night. Found a seat at the bar and ordered a flight of their house beers. They were just okay for the most part, nothing truly terrible at least. Service was pretty good, too. I’d stick to a cocktail or one of the guest beers here, though, as they had a couple solid IPAs on like Mongo and Smog City Amarilla Gorilla.
A fine place more or less at the beach. Not the most exiting beers, but not bad in any way, most of them a bit uninteresting. The head brewer spotted us beer geeks and stopped by at our table sharing a coulple of beers with us, talking about his beers and other stuff. Cute waitresses that were friendly and quick. Didn’t try the food.
Stopped in here a few years ago to check things out. Awesome location right on the beach. Nice place, but the beers were below average. Too bad. I guess they do good business despite the mediocre beers. Not a bad place to stop for some tic’s.
Had dinner here on a Wednesday night. Great views of the ocean, Oil Island, and Catalina in the distance, with mild surf sounds on the outside deck. Service was prompt and attentive, and the food arrived quickly. Only had one beer (Crude) which I enjoyed. Easy parking close by. And while the service was expedient, they didn’t make us feel rushed.
