Selection is huge, probably the best I’ve seen so far. Must visit place if you are in Portland.

One of the best of the best when visiting Portland. It’s easy to focus on the breweries when in the area...so that you’re drinking mostly Oregon or NW craftbeers...but after 3 Portland craftbeer tours...I’ve learned you must include some craft bars...and this is one of if not "the" best of the craftbeer bars in the state. Add to that that it’s a bottle shop too...and it’s a must visit when in Portland. Besides great people and service there...the tap list is ridiculous. On my recent visit I tried Dansk Mjad Viking Blod Mead from a pin keg...which was freakin amazing! Being from back east...I also never skip a chance to have a Blind Pig on draft...which I did. I tried 3 flights and would have gone for a fourth but still had Hopworks and Horse Brass Pub left on my itinerary. Don’t miss this place while in the Portland area.

Went here with Ferris during RBSG 2015. Cool arrangement that places a taproom and bottle shop side by side. Both are on the small side, but both are loaded with craft beer greatness. Interesting taps, every one of them. Tasting flights available and encouraged. The bottle shop is full of Oregon and out of state quality and rarities. Prices are excellent, staff is super helpful and knowledgeable without being intrusive. Great spot.

My wife and I stopped in here on our way through Portland and only had time to take in the bottle shop so I can’t comment on the taproom portion, though from the glimpse I got it looked very inviting. Loads of bottles packed into a relatively small shop, so the aisles are a bit cramped. Coolers hold six packs and some singles on two of the walls. For being a small shop they really pack in the good brews. I had done some research the night before and picked out a selection of beers I wanted to get. They update their bottle list twice a week so they had the majority of what I had selected on hand. I couldn’t find a porter I was looking for and the clerk told me that sometimes their database has a glitch and will list something they haven’t had for months, so just be aware that that may occur from time to time. They let you grab singles from most, but not all, of the bottle six packs but you can’t break up the six packs of cans. I wish they had more singles on offer, as I wanted to try some canned beers but wasn’t in a position to buy four or five six-packs so I had to go without. My wife found a plethora of ciders she was interested in, too. They offer a small discount if you paying cash instead of credit. The staff was friendly and helpful and the selection was impressive. I’ll definitely stop again next time I’m in Portland and hopefully get a beer in their pub.

I am fortunate to have the opportunity to travel to Portland on a regular basis these days, and every time I go, this is the spot I refuse to miss. Good location not far from Horse Brass. Has one of the best selection of bottles I’ve ever seen, and they always have bottles I can’t find anywhere else. Priced well. Even cheaper if you pay with cash. Has a bottles shop side, as well as a taproot side with an impressive taplist. Can’t have a beer trio to Portland without this place.

Visited on a Monday evening in November 2015. Ballast Point tasting on sat had a couple of beers at the bar before trying some of their wares. Tap room is a decent size with a great beer list. The bottle shop is a joy to wander round at try and pick bottles to take home. It’s a great place and a must visit for any ratebee risk!

Visited early evening on a Wednesday. Very much a geek oriented bottle shop + seperate bar area. Both bottle shop room and the bar area are pretty small, though don’t feel cramped. Additional seating on the front sidewalk or out back on the patio. The selection in the bottle shop was intense, I could have spent 2 hours looking through the coolers and the racks. Prices were the highest I saw on my trip to Portland, though not ridiculous. In the bar area, 20 beers, 2 ciders, 1 cask and 1 firkin (of Dansk Mjød Viking Blod mead) on offer. Most beers are available as sample, 25cl, pint, liter or growler. Food available for order at the bar from the Italian place nearby. Service was great, super knowledgeable, friendly and fun.

94 = ★★★★½ (World class)

I only use the total score, not the component parts.

Ate lunch here mid week. Sat at the bar and chatted with the bar keep. Small inside but did have a beer garden out back and patio seating iut front. Had a decent bottle shop also connected. Selection was great, ipas, sours, gose, u name it, food was good, from a food cart outback.

Surely a must visit in Portland on almost anyone’s list. Bottle shop is pretty small and the bar area is as well. But they pack a lot of stuff in here.

The draft list was quite solid and included some interesting, special beers from all over Oregon. A few imports, and some less interesting/standard beers. The bottle selection is outstanding. All sorts of beers from all over the state, meads, ciders, ice ciders, fruit wines...you can get pretty much anything here. Knowledgeable staff, too.

Yeah...go here.

Visited in the afternoon and loved it. Really nice feel to the place and like the fact that you just grab bottles from the shop and take them to the bar to drink. Decent tap list and massive bottle selection. In my top 3 of Portland places I think. Will definitely go back next time I’m in town. Atmosphere felt almost Belgian. Wasn’t very busy during the day, but guess it’s busy in the evening. Another must visit.
