People who order online have no idea that this how he stores his beers. Yes, he has a nice selection and is very knowledgeable of beers. He knows to store his hoppy beers in the cooler. But the stouts, porters, barleywines, etc are left in the store where temps get uncomfortably hot (>85 F - store is located in interior California). I like stocking my beer cellar with beers that I can age and have a problem when beers are exposed to such temps. What good is an excellent selection when you don’t store beers properly?
When I had completely exhausted local beers, online searches led me to Freddy at Beverages4Less. Selection and outstanding service will blow you away. I’m not saying shipping world-class beer accross the country is cheap, but you get what you pay for - and I drank my cheap beer in college! Fantastic service, shipped same day and arrived in 4 days. Packed well, all fresh selections. I hope some day I can make it your way Freddy and bring some of Michigan’s finest for us to share. Cheers with Beers.

Freddie is usually good to deal with. The first few experiences were good. Last couple not too good. Items that were supposed to be included on my order were confirmed but when I was sent a receipt for the order they had been removed. Not too happy about it. Kern River Just Outstanding was one of them.
Drove by in the morning to get a few nice beers and quickly continue my journey from San Diego to LA. Ended up staying for two hours. The owner, Freddy was quite talkative and immediately offered me a lovely beer at 9 in the morning. I definitely couldn’t refuse. Amazing guy, great selection, very friendly and helpful in getting me the right beers. In the end even some rare bottles came up from behind the curtains. If you’ve never been here, definitely stop by. And don’t be in a hurry, cause you’ll probably stay for a while.
Excellent place to order beer online!! Freddy provides great service, even calling on occasion to confirm/discuss orders. He’ll gladly give you the low down on different beers if you ask. Only place I have found online thus far with Alpine brews. Also, super fresh offerings from many other breweries that I dont get locally. Will continue to order from Freddy! Will pay you a visit next time I’m in So Cal.

Deceptive as the outside doesn’t scream craft or even nice, but walk I and you will be very surprised. I was fortunate to hang with the owner who treated me like long lost family. A brewer and craft geek himself, it was a pleasure to whittle away what precious time I had in SoCal. A must for any geek
HANDS DOWN AMAZING SERVICE AND NOT TO MENTION THE BEST OF THE BEST BEER! STONE, SURLY, DOGFISH 120 AND SO MUCH MORE. HE IS THE MAN TO COME TO IF YOU ARE TRYING TO DO ONLINE ORDERS. I HAD AN ORDER WERE A BOTTLE OF STONE ENJOY BY BROKE AND I CALLED TO LET FREDDY KNOW. NEXT WEEK I REALIZED I HAD RECEIVED 2 EXTRA ENJOY BY’S ON AN ORDER. I ALSO FORGOT TO MENTION IF YOU JUST WANT TO TALK TO SOMEONE WHO KNOWS A WHOLE LOT OF IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT BEER THEN GIVE HIM A CALL, HE WILL GLADLY JUST TALK TO YOU. WISH EVERY BUSINESS HAD HIS BUSINESS PRACTICES. ALSO WHOEVER GAVE FREDDY AT 16 SOUNDS TO BE A LITTLE JEALOUS. FREDDY WILL NOT RIP YOU OFF AND WILL NOT DO ANYTHING OTHER THAN MAKE HIS CUSTOMERS HAPPY. ITS NOT LUCK HIS BEER STORE HAS SUCH AN AMAZING REVIEW.
A lot of suspect reviews of this place as well as many "claimed" beer bottles available that clearly are not. My score has been lowered accordingly.
Old review from Sept 2007, before RedPoppy joined the site. 64/100 no longer.
Small single cooler door selection of bombers and a couple of doors worth the craft beer sixes. Nothing outdated noticed suggesting it gets picked over with some frequency. If you are already in the area it is worth a look. Coming from El Cajon or La Mesa Windy City Liquor is a better bet with wider selection.
First time ordering through Freddy after being recommended by a friend here in Virginia. These guys are awesome - after I had submitted my order, I found out that one of the beers I had ordered was available locally, so they quickly swapped it out for me without any hassle. Great guy - pleasure to talk to on the phone. Thanks guys!
It’s a basic liquor store set up, but when you walk in and start looking at the inventory, you notice you’re not just at another corner street market. With shelves after shelves of delicious beer from all over the world, you’re guaranteed to find something that you’ve been looking for for a while. Come in on a Friday and Freddy will be pouring some of his favorite beers. Sometimes there will even be a representative from one of the craft breweries in the area pouring their beer.
Like with many great beer stores around here, it’s all about who you know. Often times owners don’t like giving up their prime beers to just anyone. I know that sounds kind of ridiculous at first, but it’s not hard to "pay your dues" when it comes to finding awesome beer already on the shelves at this store.
Go on Facebook and Like the Beverages 4 Less page and they’ll keep you updated on the newest arrivals. Freddy has even been nice enough to put a bottle aside for me, so that I can go over and pick it up after I get off work.
From the highly coveted Heady Topper back east, to the finest craft beers in San Diego, they’ve got it all. Not to mention all of the imported specialties from around the world. Obviously it’s not always available all the time, good beer flies off the shelves, but it’s regularly showing up in deliveries. If I want something, this place has it or can get it for me.
