Friendly, deemly lit place beaide a canal, a few minutes walk from Den Hauge HS station, nice choice of beers on tap though not too exciting. Nice place to sit on a few.

Bierspeciaalcafe De Paas offered some welcome respite today from the dreadful weather. It had been forecast to be showery but in reality it was mostly just continual steady rain punctuated by the odd very, very occasionall rare sunny respite, anyway that is what it felt like to us as we wandered around like drowned rats having left our waterproof gear in our bike panniers that were parked some distance away, grrrr.... We popped in here on Sunday 2nd October 2016.Bierspeciaalcafe De Paas can be found alongside a canal on Dunne Bierkade. It’s just a little south of the centre of town and sits between the centre and Den Haag HS station.
This is a lovely café inside, admittedly there is a lot going on with lots of enamel beer signs and beery paraphernalia but there is some nice soft lightning, and a very warm and cosy atmosphere to be found. The serving bar is unmissable as this is a long narrow’ish café with seating all down the RH side and the bar taking up much of the LH side. There are beer boards with the tap lists on and also one at the far end of the bar displaying some of the temporary beers and behind the bar further into the café you can see rows of beers on shelves (they have all of these available) there are also beer lists/ slim booklets scattered around.
We really liked it here, the two female staff were very friendly, beer wise I thought that the choice was very good though I guess that there may be too many traditional beer for many folk, I was easily able to find something news to me. Prices were a bit steep compared to most places we’d been to over here. You could easily while away an hour or two here, it’s not hard to see why this is the top place in town
Stuck somewhere in the eighties for beer (huge Belgian fixation), the tap list is generally fairly bland and of the large bottle list you might find a couple of interesting items. Prices are on the high side.
Cozy, oldschool beer bar with about a dozen taps and quite a lot of bottles. The tap list is a mix of newer micros and classics, but overall not that exciting. The ambiance is really nice though, lots of wooden interior and beer enamels, and a few tables are outside as well. The barkeeper looked a bit grumpy, but he was kind and patient when I looked for a new tick. Overall a really nice place to enjoy a good beer!
Great selection of all kinds of beers: 10 on draft and more than 100 on bottle. If you are lucky they offer even Westvleteren. For non-beerdrinkers there is a great selection of malt whiskys, wines and in The Hague distilled Dutch jenevers. Friendly staff. Prices are not low.
Based on regular visits. Cozy, Oud Bruin café, like the ambiance. This used to be one of my favorites, but the last couple of times I lost my interest. Service often uninterested or too slow. A huge beer menu in bottles, but all the regular Dutch and Belgian stuff. Seems they lost track of what is going on now a days. Still a nice place to go. Prices ok to (very) high.
I’m sitting here at the bar of one of my former haunts and I’m staggered that I never rated the place on RB, so here we go. This is probably the premium beer destination in Den Haag. They have 10 taps but many are pretty uninteresting with just a couple of guests. The Dutch/Belgian bottle selection is quite impressive though. I love the old school Dutch boozer, brown bar ambience. It’s a great place to be during the winter and in the summer too where you can sit on the outside terrace on the canal. Great service and solid wifi. Check it out!

Lot of common classics on bottle but also some newer stuff as of recently. About 8 beers on tap as well. Some of those taps are reserved by Brand. Selection is often Dutch. Classic brown café interior and a boat with terrace out front. Check the prices before you order.
Was there in the summer so was sitting outside and sitting outside on the boat is always fun. What an lovely selection they had also staff was friendly and relaxed. Only thing I was shocked was prices. I gues I gad some of the most expensive pints in my life. Even more than in Londonds craft pubs. Besides that lovely indeed.
