Belongs to Sunset Grill complex. This is the pool hall, and for a pool hall, they have nice beers. A bit grungier and messier than the Grill, less taps, they do offer samplers too.

Upstairs neighbour of the much superior Sunset Grill. Crowd is annoying fratboys/fratgirls, younger and loud. Lots of pool tables, a few baby-foot tables and loud pop-music pop music, Not my kind of atmosphere, really not. Beer selection is impressive in number but with Sunset Grill downstairs it seems disappointing. When I was there they had 60+ tap lines and it can go up to about 80. Most of the Big City tap lines are also at Sunset Grill. Basically the beer selection is what the downstairs Sunset Grill has if you take away the most interesting 40 taps from Sunset Grill. Not bad by any means, but why would a beer geek go there when Sunset Grill is downstairs. I went for a classic Bear Republic Racer 5 and when I left I knew I was never going to back there ever again.

Big upstairs bar in a well established neighborhood in Allston, MA. Mainly a younger crowd. The bar has a three main sections: a pool hall that is well lit and furnished, a sitting area to drink and another pool hall area that has a old school feel, dimly lit with hanging flourescent lighting. The bar has a nice selection of beers with a few beers that sell for 5 bucks for 23 ounces. The place gets very crowded on Fridays.

Essentially Sunset with less beer, worse service and pool. The ratio of drunken fratboy to random beer geek is even worse as well.

I’ve been there a couple of times with coworkers, Second floor locations lots of windows to look around the area, basic lofty warehouse looking place, kinda industrial. Usually 80 or so beers, something new should be found. Good pubgrub. Bunch of pooltables and beer, I’ve always had fun here.

This place can absorb a large amout of people real fast, and for the number of beers and people they need to work with, the bartenders are outstandingly efficient. Too bad they weren’t nicer though. Maybe you could flash them to get their attention or something. Nice pool tables, view of the street, and convival atmosphere with lots of nooks to roam about. This place sits right on top of Sunset grill.

82 beers on tap! but leave your girlie mixed drink friends at home because this place doesn’t have a hard liquor liscense. there is plenty of pool to be played, and they accomidate for big parties if you want to block of a few tables with your friends. part of the sunset grill family, so the food is similar.
