Food was OK but far too pricey... tourist trap I guess. The building is a kick, lots of wood, lodge-style design with a couple of dark stairwells to climb before reaching the upstairs bar. You get a nice view of Hood River and the Columbia through a large window, up in a small room with a small bar. The imperial stout is arguably their best offering, and it’s decent enough. Worth a stop at least once, but eat elsewhere.

Very neat pub overlooking the Columbia river. The beers were generally good and the food on par with bar food. Prices were reasonable.
OK place. Nice view. Our server was friendly but seemed to have too many tables. Food was just OK, somewhat underwhelming. I got the beer sampler. A few were below average and bland; the others were just average. Most of them lacked depth, and I lost interest after just one or two sips. Guess I expected more. We didn’t end up staying for additional pints.
Great atmosphere overlooking the city of Hood River at night when it is all lit up. Nice sized sampler, did not try the food, but the menu was good looking and somewhat pricey with alot of steaks and seafood. Service however was horrible. My father and I sat there waiting to be served forever before someone payed attention to us, and even at that point they could not tell us about the beers without looking up at the board they were all posted on to tell us what styles they had on.
stairs are not nearly as bad as some make it out to be. view is great. staff was friendly. it was a wednesday around 7-8 oclock. was not that busy. walked in and had a few employees stare at us until someone eventually sat us. (think it was the water girl)
ordered an ipa and wife ordered a coke.
water had 4 ice cubes in it (thought i was in europe). the coke was flat, and the ipa was average to decent. (aroma was good, but finished a little harsh)
ordered steak tips and a burger. took a little while to get our food, and when it came, there was a hair on the burger bun. let it go. the fries were warm, but just barely. the steak was a little over cooked and was hard to cut with my butter knife. the burger looked like a pre packaged burger that was terribly dry.
we only ate about half our meal. and for the level of the food, was way over priced. maybe it was a bad day.
once again, staff was nice, view was great, and the girl who kept filling my water, was the only one really on the ball.
May 2004: This place has a lot of potential, but I was way underimpressed with their beers, and the restuarant itself was kinda underkempt and uncomfortable inside. Overpriced after the mountain climb up the steps, too.
Tried on two attempts to visit during posted hours, yet they were not open. On second attempt an employee coming in some 20 minutes after posted open hours laughed and said they "needed to change that".Slackers. Will try again next time when in town and re rate, until then, fail.
