I wouldn’t exactly say ’ambiance’ is part of Oades’ thing, this is a college town liquor store that carries little else. That said, the shelves are stocked by the bottle and it is easy to get lost in their huge selection. Full packs are also available, as well as a huge selection of 1.5 oz liquor shooters. The staff is friendly and helpful, and they also carry girl scout cookies when they are in-season.
Pretty nice place, just starting going there but am happy with it. I just got Founders Backwoods Bastard from there for a reasonable price and they gave me one of the few that weren’t already spoken for so that made me happy. Also they have a lot of beers that I have not seen anyone else kin the area carry.
I frequent this store all the time. The ambiance isn’t the greatest, but it’s not horrible either. Most of the staff are helpful, some are very good. The selection is definitely the best in mid michigan, with over 600 beers. Also, they sell everything in singles. They have a lot of micros and a few belgians. If your in lansing, make the stop.
Easily the best selection in Lansing/East Lansing. Prices are a bit high, but you will find the beers that don’t make it to Goodrich’s here. Everything available in singles and kept cold. Discount on mix and match sixers. They usually get the hard to find Dark Horse brews like One, Too, Tres, Fore, Double Crooked, etc. Full line of Bells, Founders, Arcadia, New Holland, Jolly Pumpkin, Michigan Brewing Co. Last time I was there they had some Victory, Great Divide, plus the usual. Service can be hit or miss, some of the employees are beer geeks, some know absolutely nothing.
A true BEER store! Unassuming outside, but inside - kid in a candy shop time. All that Michigan has to offer, they have. They even have Stone (I guess they’re everywhere.) Even obscure brands like Dragonmead. I am touring their IPAs this week. So far I am impressed.
It’s small and it’s a dump, but the selection is good. Single bottles of every thing. Staff varies from good to excellent.
This was the first place I found non-supermarket craft beer, it’s not as amazing as it was the first time, but still worth the visit.
I check out their nice selection a couple times a year when I am on this side of town. Coolers could be better organized, but its not too troubling because I am going to look at every bottle in the store when I am there.
pretty much a dump, but quite a decent beer selection. you’ll find much better stores in Detroit or Grand Rapids, but this is about as good as it gets in Lansing. organization was iffy at best, but I don’t mind looking through everything. best of all, I didn’t see anything that wasn’t available as a single.
