I guess I donít have to state that itís in the U district, that itís completely made of wood and such. I didnít have the food, but the beers were good. Lots of signs and memorbilia on the walls. Bottles and such. Nice place. I plan on visiting again when Iím in Seattle next, hopefully soon, to enjoy some more tasty beers and perhaps a meal.

For a long time, this has been the place to stop in the U District in my opinion. Very old school feel. Leaves an impression that not a whole lot has changed since they opened in the 80ís. Space for 16 beers and ciders on tap, though only 12 were filled. 1 cask on as well. Nice location, though not brewery crawl location friendly. Very loud in here every time. Has a sports bar atmosphere a lot of the time. 4 big TVís visible from anywhere in the main area. Great food pizza centered. Good happy hour. Some merch available. They will sell their beer for here from 4 oz to pitchers, and to go from 22 oz bottles to 1/2 barrel kegs. Not a must stop if time is a factor, but if you have free time on the North side, I recommend stopping in.

I work at UW. So, this brewpub is always around. And its the perfect University brewpub. Old wood interior, feels aged inside, common pub fare. Homey feeling, very nice staff. The problem is the beer has been inconsistent over the 2 years I have lived here. I have had some average beer but a lot of sub par beer. So, I have visited a good deal but nearly not enough for a brewery so close to my office. Not worth a visit unless you happen to be at the UW.

I donít know why this place doesnít get more love. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The beer is very solid. Anyplace that has a good imperial IPA and a good imperial stout is okay in my book. The food was very good also. The bartender was very nice, seeing as she was in charge of running the bar and taking orders. Everything is order at the bar, and there is no table service.

Very cool old school place in the University district, with about 12 beers on tap during my visit. You can do 4 x 4oz. beer samplers for just over $5. Beer quality is consistent and solid, with nothing crazy. Service is friendly enough and the atmosphere is very inviting. Definitely worth a stop when nearby.

You walk in to chunky furniture that is purely meant to survive students day in and out. The college vibe is here, but not overtly so. Service was nice and everything was serve yourself. Beer selection was pretty good, but all were pretty standard, nothing standing out. Food is casual and decent, but nothing I would specifically go for. A nice place overall if you are in the neighborhood, but nothing I would go out of my way for.

A Seattle/U-Dist institution. The place has had several great local brewers past through it. Lots of house recipes that rotate through with some standard handles. Place is well worn in with lots of character and a cross section of customers. Service is solid, prices are good and the food will work if you are hungry but not something I would go there for. Definitely worth checking out if in the area.

An old brew pub, 25 years at least, on the university main drag. A decent selection of house brews at bargain basement prices. Friendly staff. Decent bar food. I would be stoked to have a place like this down the street from my pad.

Very close to the university and totally packed with students during our visit and thatís probably typical. Still, no regrets at all we made a detour to hit Big Time. We did not eat, but the pizza counter was really looking at us by the time we left. Woodish interior with a loud crowd and plenty of good IPA being drank all around. Having Bhagwan and Scarlett Fire on tap at the same time was a definite highlight of our West Coast trip. Lovely old school IPAs which remain as good as their posterity. Beers were generally fresh and very satisfying. Thatís the point of a RB place, isnít it, the rest is all details.

I hiked across town from the Hard Liver fest to get here. Actually it was on the way to my friendís place, who was in school at the University of Washington, and we were trying to work off some of the barleywine. The people were very friendly and the brewer recognized me from the festival. I had talked with him a bit not knowing he was a brewer at all. We tried all 10 beers, of which most were pretty decent. They usually have some vintage bottles of their wheatwine sitting around. Theyíve been making this beer forever so if you find someone with a cellar you might be able to track one down from the early 2000ís. The sandwiches are pretty good as well. Cool place all around.

Definitely geared toward students. Standards here are pretty low. Parking is a bit challenging.
