Big liquor store in Chicago’s South Loop area. Free parking around back, just take an escalator up to the store. Good beer selection, several aisles in a row. Decent selections of Three Floyds, Lost Abbey/Port, and a lot of other great breweries. Huge Bell’s and Founders selections, but they don’t break those down into individual bottles- 6 packs only. Good representation from local breweries- Goose Island seasonals, Half Acre, Two Brothers, and so on. A girl came by and asked twice if I needed help, so they seem to be attentive. A little overpriced on some stuff. Good bar off to the corner with a nice city view.

They have a ton of great beer. Nobody offered any help. The place was nicely kept. Prices seemed in line. I will make special trip here when I’m at in NW IN.

They will find if you want it and they have tap room where you can give new brews a try (at a cost). The go to for microbrews on the south side of Chicago.

I swung by here on the way through downtown up to the northern suburbs. I managed to get out with only $95 worth of beer but could have easily spent several hundred. Free covered parking, though limited, is a nice touch for a four seasons climate.

Selection covers everything you could possibly want from all around the world. The only issue, if you want to make it one, is they will not break six packs so you may have to buy more than you’d like to sample a few locals (Metropolitan, Half Acre, etc). Prices may have been a bit on the high side with the almost 10% sales tax but in exchange you can buy in one stop almost everything available in Illinois.

The tap room is also worth a stop if you have the time. Constantly rotating through fresh and respected beers I could have spent hours enjoying options such as Port 3rd Anniversary or Stone 13th. The view is typical for Chicago; don’t expect much in that department. Overall this is a must stop if you are willing to brave Chicago traffic or walk a few blocks from the nearest train station.

Went in for a bottle or two to top off our shopping at 3F from the day before and came out with $100 plus of stuff. Selection is impressive, though it may be less so depending on what you are used to. The quantity is at least as much as what we see in Buffalo, NY and on average there is more good stuff here, or at least that was my impression. We picked up a couple of Flossmoor Station, Lost Abbey, New Belgium, Allagash and others. Decent Belgian selection. I was pretty impressed. Did not visit the tasting room but it looked like a nice little spot as well. Service was friendly, did not ask any questions so I have no idea if they knew their stuff or not. We were pretty impressed. A MUCH nicer store than our stop at Liquor Stop the day before. No splitting six packs, but there were tons of bombers and single bottles to choose from.

This is a must visit when in Chicago. This blows Sams out of the water. For starters, the beer is well organized and the entire store does not have a warehouse feel to it. Second, they have a bar that has a great view of the Chicago skyline. They rotate the taps regularly and even have some rare stuff as well. So you can shop for beer and sit down and drink a few afterwards. They also have a very cool high dollar room with VERY expensive whiskies and cognacs. As far a beer, you can find all the regional offerings, micros from around the country, as well as Belgian/ Euro stuff. Prices are on par with the area.

Man, this place is huge. Two or three aisles of beer and a large refrigerated section. I’m not a fan of not being able to buy singles in this city, but I guess that’s not really the stores fault. Lots of stuff that we can’t get in NYC, but I do have to say it’s pretty damn pricy in here. The sales staff made a point of avoiding eye-contact with me and trying to stay invisible while I roamed the aisles. The tasting room looks pretty cool, but it was unfortunately closed the day I was in here. A bit warehouse-like, but at the end of the day, it is a liquor store.

The best of the four Binny’s I’ve been to, if only for the tasting room. The atmosphere is a little less warehouse-y than other Binnys. This chain has a commitment to a wide slection of great beer and brings in new things all the time. Prices are reasonable by Chicago standards. Worth stopping by on a weekly basis to see what might be new, although they’re not as good as brining in the occasional rarity as some other places. But this is the staple for beer geeks in Chicago.

Awesome place. Clean, huge and well organized vast selection. Lots of single bottles, some rare stuff. They had a nice lambic section as well and the prices were very fair. The bar/tasting area was a plus. The tap selection was very eclectic with a nice mix of quality American craft and imports. This place is a must when visiting Chicago.

This place is kind of like the midwest BevMo. Great breadth of selection, but few rarities. Awesome deals are ready to be had. No real reason not to patron this place when you’re in the area.
