A beautiful if cramped bar with a sleek, modern art interior. In two experiences here, I wanted to love it but could not manage more than mixed feelings.
Trip one was within our first few hours in Rome. Weary from travel and eager for a good time. We had already visited Ma Che and needed some food. The Ganstaller Zoigl on tap was ruinously spoiled, but no one returned to speak to us for more than twenty minutes, so I was sort of stuck. Eventually we were able to order some food when I finally chose to actually raise my hand at the bartender (a bartender myself, there’s not a more effective self-humiliation out there). The fried eggplant bruschetta was absolutely killer and the fresh homemade bread was too. We were two of possibly four people in the bar at the six o’clock hour and were willfully ignored the entire time. Have they only recently abandoned the late afternoon closing hours and the staff just don’t want to serve anyone while they’re getting ready for dinner service? It was very confusing. Maybe we shouldn’t have been there, but in that case I’d have so much rather just been told to go away.
The second visit was during a wildly packed Saturday night. The service was slow but intentful, the Knoblach Keller was fantastic, and the pizza was among the best we had in Rome. I look forward to another, better, and more representative visit next time.
Go (do not!) there for good beers, good menu an met with the rudest waiters.. As they are almost full every night they really donot care about the customers. One day you have to wait and sit for outside, other day there is a reservation list, you cannot know... Waiter easily call you ’hey guy, why did you sit there?’.. Selling good beer is easy, but managing a bar.. not. I’ll never go there again. for good craft beer go Ma Che Siete Venuti a Fa which is on the same street.. For good food, youare already at Trastevere.. There a lots of better choices..
Nice long bar with a few seats outside and plenty of seating in the back. Slow service in the back restaurant, they were getting ready for a private party, so not interested in the customers that were already there. We ordered wings that were Ok, but decided eat next door.
Nice modern feel in the bar and restaurant areas. Good tap list
Visited the 25th July 2016 with friend before Un Mare di Birra 2016 - Good place in front of Ma Che Siete, managed by same team. Good place, modern and friendly. If you follow your way after the bar you will find a restaurant room more friendly. Service is amazing, good advice and expert. Good huge beer selection mainly Italian but with some international treasures as De Dolle... Food is really nice and tasty. Quantity is for a hungry man :). Highly recommended.
L’avevo visitato anni fa ed è molto migliorato ! Selezione sempre molto curata e varia con una cucina buona e ottime pizze ! Il servizio sempre molto valido anche quando è Busy ! Posto top insieme al macchè !
This beer has a fine selection of local and foreign offerings, the beers I had was in a fine condition. The place itself is dominated by a long bar in a very long, narrow room. Making moving around very difficult. Service was very mixed: It was very hard to get the attention from the barman, he would rather spend time taking to his friends. When I finally got his attention, I didn’t get the chance the ask for a small one, and get a drink for my girlfriend. Crowd in the bar was loud, drunk Americans. I’ll not let this influence on the rating, just noticing... Girl at the checkout counter was nice, trough. Not for me - there is a far better place a few steps down the street.
You come here for the excellent food, the drinking establishment is 4 steps across the street. The service is very friendly and informal, but also very professional. The beer selection is very varied and well thought (every beer has a suggested food pairing), the beers are in great shape, but of course there will always be an idiot complaining there are only 3 IPAs on the 40ish taps. Awesome place!
Loooong place with a good looking array of taps. Close inspection reveals a good deal of decent Roman beer. Nothing too exciting though... Service seems indifferent and is rather slow. Generous samples but otherwise pretty pricy.
