First visited when spotting houses in Leuven. On my visit it was hot and the outside area is super nice to chat with friends or meet people. Relaxed atmosphere. Nice beer list with loads of classic Belgians, but good stuff, including Dupont, De Ranke. Some ticks for me, but not much and mostly too sweet, so stick to tasty classics I recommend. Very attractive prices! Live music on some nights (often free). Good place to a night cap on a hot day!
Nice atmosphere, blues music, good service, but the beer can be a bit old (which, I can safely say to you, doesn’t quite work for say, an XX bitter). Pitty, because the bar really has a nice feel to it.
Fantastic bolt hole of a pub, a rare calm spot for good beer amid the noisy bustle of tourists and partying students. Taras Boulba in bottles made up for the unnecessarily rude service. The alleyway can be smoky but inside it was more clean and calm.
Dingy, smoky, decrepit. A bit stinky too. Perfect place for blues and beer. Selection seems not as good as in the past, but absolutely great music. Still decent selection, though the prices have crept up to be above average.
one of my favorite bars in leuven. Dark, brown (used to be smokey, but not anymore), jazz in the background. Monday free jazz gig, which bring a unique atmosphere to the place, cozy. friendly service, good selection.
Devoted blues bar that has become an institution, both locally and among traveling beer geeks. Beer list has its ups and downs but manages to keep worthies like De Dolle and some oddities. Music is miles better than the student boozers. There are tables in the alleyway. Friendly service.
