Boudicca’s comments pretty well descirbe it. Every so often they do really fun stuff - like the Wedding Ale Beer Festival for William and Kate’s occasion. And how cool does it get to go through the Bodmin Moor and then have a beer.

The Blisland Inn is a lovely village pub located out in the wilderness of Cornwall. It is actually only a short detour off the A30 and well worth the trip. It is a traditional pub with open fire and stone floors. On our visit there was a good mix of locals and tourists stopping past for lunch. They have up to 9 cask ales on offer from local breweries – Sharp, Skinners & Harbour. This includes a Sharps beer brewed specifically for the pub. We ate a hearty ploughman’s and washed it back with a few halves. Good value and rather pleasant. Recommended.

A delightful pub in an idyllic setting. The Blisland Inn is right by a lovely, sloping village green – apparently the only one in Cornwall. There are a few houses in the village, a church and an old school but not much else. How fantastic then to find a friendly pub with nine taps offering a really good selection of cask ales, including King Buddha’s Blisland Special which I think is brewed specially for the pub by Sharps in nearby Wadebridge. The main bar is cosy. It has a slate floor, a large stone fireplace with a stove and hundreds of mugs suspended from the ceiling. There are a couple of rooms at the back and also a small lounge bar with a collection of (mainly benign looking) witches. (Visited 23 March 2012).
