The real reason to stop here is the beautiful views. Outside of that, the service is so-so at best, and the ciders are pretty similar. Nothing really great in the way of a cidery. Added bonus, you’ll get a good workout in, climbing the zig-zag ramp to get to the place.

Finally stopped by the new brewpub. Live music on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Nice vibe... lots of wood, fireplace. Pleasant walk up a long wooden walkway from the parking area. Very helpful staff member helped me out. Samples and pints of their products, including some rarer stuff. Didn’t end up buying anything so I can’t comment on prices. 151 is a crowded place, and this is not worth a stop if you have limited time, but it’s still a nice place to stop. Old score 60, review follows.

This is a new cidery just about a mile North of Devils Backbone on Route 151. It’s a beatiful property, which is definitely not a hard thing to come by in Nelson County. They had some delays in opening to the public and as of now there is a bar in the pressing and packaging barn. They originally had plans to eventually build a brewpub but now plan to build a tasting room with light snacks. As of now they are only pouring their two core ciders but they have some reserves coming soon. The ciders are solid. Plenty of parking, the staff is nice and helpful. So within a 13 mile stretch on 151 there is now a cidery, meadery, bar, homebrew shop, three breweries and about three wineries. Wow.

Large place in a nice farmy setting. Four ciders on offer during the free tasting, which you can do before touring the facility. Two ciders are on draft, two are sampled from bottles. Tasty enough.

Pretty low-key place located right off 151. Very barebones compared to the well-oiled machine that is Devils Backbone. Bold Rock’s basically a barn with a tasting table inside. The bathrooms are porta potties located behind the barn. The prices can’t be beat - sample flights are absolutely free. The selection’s limited to their 4 offerings. The ciders aren’t particularly complex or noteworthy. Overall, not an essential visit by any means.
